feeling special today lol, my eldest son doesn't call very often, be he knows who to call when he needs help. last night he had a question about building muscle for his new sport then amazingly another call this morning, wanting me to call his brother to get him to go home ASAP, my son had locked himself out of his flat :smilielol5::rotflmao:

when i say it is fucking hot and the actual temp may not give that impression

View attachment 25164

today it was over 40c and humidity was only 75% (normally over 80% most of the year)

it is 6 pm and still 36C and humidity has dropped to %50 still to damn hot to do any form of exercise.

there is a heatwave forecast for the next week expecting over 40 again today, the storms went around us last night. but have seen a long range forecast predicting 2 cyclones for our area towards end of month, not sure how accurate but this is why trees etc need to be kept in good condition or removed as needed.

going to the pool or beach with bub is not an option, I have no desire to become some sort of human lobster out in the sun, even though my skin goes almost black if I spend time outside rather than burning.

i have been a bit slack with cooking from scratch, tonight cooked up chicken korma, and rice for hubby. worked out nice and creamy.

starting to feel bad, got stung by a large wasp this morning, at least the actual sting didn't last long (first aid training helps)

feeling better

for those few reading this, what health markers do you keep an eye on

for me it is blood pressure and blood glucose levels

today's blood pressure 110/68 with heart rate of 55
glucose normal

Hey. I publish mine daily. At the level I'm training, the Heart Rate Variability is probably somewhat irrelevant as I'm no where near maxed out but it may indicate adequate sleep and the absence of illness. I like blood pressure and resting heart rate also as signs of stress and watch pulse pressure which is the difference between the systolic and diastolic readings. Tracking hours of sleep helps ensure adequate rest. Lastly is the heart rate recovery which is the difference in heart rate from the time I stop a cardio or high heart rate activity until two minutes have elapsed.

One of the reasons I track so much is that I'm no longer a youngster and want to prevent injury, particularly as my cardio heart rates are at a pretty high percentage of my max.

I don't track glucose as there has never been any indication of diabetes in my check up blood tests. Is there any other rrason I might want to track glucose?

I track glucose because there is a family history, in the same way I must have a regular colonoscopy. I am not diabetic but family history (both sides of family tree) mean tracking is a good idea.

I check my blood pressure and heart rate when I remember to (which is rare when I´m well), but they´re in a healthy range anyway. Sometimes when the nurses make their round of blood sugar checks and they have the time I let them check mine as well. I mainly watch how my chronic skin and stomach issues are doing.

42 c today in the shade on our veranda with 75% humidity

just had a feed of liver, yum even if it was over cooked, my daughter got upset right at the wrong time.

sitting here watching the news, massive storm approaching, we normally never get a mention so must be a big one
