Heya
DAY THREE
a decent day. Had my porridge slop this morning and my green smoothie before going for a 40 minute speed walk in my lunch break but I had another 'feeling shaky etc' time on my walk. the girls at work told me that I need to eat rather than just have smoothies. I know I was going to do it this week to 'detox' but I think they are right. so, I did have some biscuits but I counted the calories of everything I ate, I even worked out the calorie content of the smoothies. so.......
calories; 1,490
steps; 13,346
active minutes; 41
miles; 5.77
I think that is what I will do. get targets on my fitbit. Every day
My step target is 10,000. My active minute target is 30 mins and my distance target is 5 miles and of course to keep under my calorie limit, which changes depending on how active I am (my fitbit syncs with myfitnesspal and so does mapmyrun!)
I had a great day at work today, we had a cover hygienist in today who has worked there a few times before and we get on so so well. We had a really good laugh
I have a bit of a sore bottom of my foot today
not had that before, I wonder whether it's cos my knee was a bit painful while I was running yesterday and I was running oddly on it. Resting it up at the moment and i'll have a hot bath and take some painkillers when I go to bed and hopefully it'll feel better tomorrow. I've got achy abs from my run yesterday.....which I love!!!
Love that feeling of not just my legs aching, love the whole body ache
LaMaria I really am making an effort to not give myself a hard time, Cate will tell you how bad I can be
but I just have to keep telling myself to take things slow and steady. no doubt, I will have my moments but this year I am going to try.
I'm going to try and go for a walk every lunch time. If I stay at work over lunch I just curl up on the sofa and it seems such a waste of time.
Sunflower It was funny with her dawdling behind until she realised that we were on the road leading back to the house then she bounced on ahead.
Cate I do think of you when I give myself a hard time and get impatient with myself. You are my internet mum and i'll do as i'm told
Vanita Aww thank you
My wiener dog is a bit of a pain really, she hates other dogs and is a stuck up snob but we love her. My rescue dog is just a wonderfully amazing creature. We have had her for nearly three years now and she has changed so much. She went from not understanding affection to being happy to meet anyone. She loves swimming and jumping around in puddles and mud, she loves playing fetch with a ball but is just as happy to use a stone. She would go on really long walks if she could but she is so stiff and sore afterwards she can barely walk so we have to just do what she can manage without her being in pain. She is also terrified of stormy weather (i assume due to living in a shed before we had her) and we have to give her Diazepam when there is a storm or fireworks, I've had many a sleepless night with her but i am so so touched that we have given her a truly happy life now and yep, she is totally spoilt . Also she HAS to sleep by my side of the bed. I am her rock.
Anyway, welcome to the forum. My only piece of advise is to come on here every day and write about your day, good or bad. These amazing people are here to help and it makes such a difference. Good luck with your journey and I'll check out your diary.
Sam Unfortunately my man is a tall slim guy who can eat all the bad stuff and get away with it so there is choc, crisps etc around at home as well as the stuff at work. I don't have much choice with either, I'll just have to be strong
And as for home made stuff, I don't make cakes or cookies or even bread cos i am totally useless with it and will just pig out totally on it
Regarding my knee, i know that it will ease the fitter i get. it was like this before when i was running. but i will keep your advice in mind if I'm wrong
Thank you all so so much for your great support, you guys rock
