Before and current back pic

I think it looks like I've gained some mass, I'm fatter too, so not as defined, which really shows on my delts and mid back, but I don't care, I plan to continue gaining both fat and muscle. I'm shooting for 220 before I cut, I might start cutting before that though, I'll see.

Anyways, I think the now pic is a better pose too, my arms are more parallell. The angle on the pic is a bit off though, I never seem to get it just right, but this was the best I got out of about 4 photos.

Anyways, I'm bored, there's no activity on the board now, so I figured I'd just post it, since I know how everyone loves to look at me :D

before pic was taken a long time ago: Nov. 07/06
current pic was taken today. I've been on a pretty slow bulk. I haven't been gaining the weight steady, so you can't calculate and say it's about 1.7 lbs/month

So, post comments, anything I should work on size wise?

HA, Now I know why you put up the biceps question. :yelrotflmao:

JK.

You are tall right?? What is your current BW.

I would consider gaining to 250 before a cut. (of course I think if anyone is over 6 feet tall they should be at least 300lbs so take that with a grain of salt)

You look leaner in the current pic. (to me anyhow) And your lats cut a lot better down to your waist.

What ^ said.

Karks, we've really got to get some more thickness to your traps. I think you look leaner too and can afford to bulk a lot more before cutting.

Good work though... your consistency is deffinately paying off.

Very funny goergen! :p

and I'm 6'4 195 lbs in that last pic. I kinda like being lean, but I want to gain some serious mass before cutting this time. I'm bulking very slow,

11.09. 2007 87.9 Kilo
19.09. 2007 88.2 Kilo
25.09 2007 88.5 Kilo

That's from my weight log, it's in kilos but you get the point. Last time I bulked and gained like 1kg a month, I got alot of fat..
Oh it's day.month.year BTW. You guys do month.day.year don't you?

And the traps, yeah I know. I'm supersetting clean low pulls with overhead DB shrugs, which I hope will help, and I got power cleans and deadlifts in my routine too. Do you think they need more direct work? add another iso exercise another day or something? I've always been pulling quite a bit and it doesn't seem to do the trick, maybe I just need something extra.

And I don't think I am leaner, but it might appear that way due to different lighting. I've definatly gained some fat, but my back is always pretty lean anyways, my fat seems to put itself on my stomach, under the abs.

thanks for the feetback.

Good question on direct work. I'd say more than likely that they'll come around as you gain that next 20 lbs if you keep pulling like you are. However, I might retract that statment and say throw in some heavy power shrugs.

Ok.. Power shrug vs clean low pull. The difference is? With the clean you start on the floor with every rep and pull a bit higher, or what? Got any vids?

I'm with them. Keep bulking, you barely gained fat so what you're doing is spot on. I wouldn't stop until well above 220 as long as your bf% stays in check.

Why do you plr's and oly'rs care how you look? I dun't care how much I lift :p lol

well dang it man!! i can't see it. it says can't dosplay. So, let me use my imagination- you need to "eat big, lift big,. and get bigger--- the work aint done- but FANTASTIC PROGRESS!!!

how's that for a statement from the "shrinking one"??

now i can see it. You do have fantastic progress. Try and work some swimming in do develop the fine muscles too. then when you get all ripped out you will have them lil nobbies along your spine.

good to see somebody showing what they got and how they are advancing.

I'm not just lifting for strenght, I want to be a bit buff too :D

And FF, that's weird you can't see it
try that. It's alot bigger though, so the quality is bad..

I'm supersetting clean low pulls with overhead DB shrugs,

WTF overhead DB Shrugs, or overhead shrugs in general. It is a funny friggin' exercise from, well...... lots of standpoints.

Cut it out. Put a crap-ton of weight on the bar and start shrugging.

Word up on that one. I know you are not just a strength guy though Karks.

After the guy doing one rep of bench is me doing power shrugs.

Clean low pulls are not a real exercise. Either high pull or power shrug. There is no sense doing anything in between.

what's so wrong with overhead shrugs Georgen? I've heard alot of smart people recommend them.

And I guess what I do is really a power shrug then.

what's so wrong with overhead shrugs Georgen?

I just do not get it. Seems like there are a lot of better things to do whatever it is that is the goal of the overhead shrug (I am not even sure what the goal for that lift is?)

Pick overhead squat, overhead press, push press.

Why shrug overhead?? I guess is my major question. I am not coming up with a good reason for the lift.

i guess I kinda wanted something to give my traps a bit more stimulation without having a huge impact on the CNS. Supersetting the power shrugs with OHshrugs seemed like a good idea to really fry the traps.
I currently do 4x3 of power shrugs supersetted with 3x12 overhead DB shrugs
1 min rest between the exercises. really fries the traps. Should I rather go for 7 tripples of power shrugs with 1 min rest between sets?

Georgen, what about supersetting the power shrug with some heavy DB shrugs? I'll be able to use way more load, and there's not as much else than my traps (possibly my grip though) that can hold me back..

like i said before, karks, awesome progress :]
when power shrugging, is it neccissary to drop the weight?
isn't a power shrug a clean pull?

Don't think it's nessecary. Like, if you're in a gym that doesn't allow dropping weights. But with these pulls the emphasis is the concentric, not the eccentric part.
