Josey's weight loss journey

So today I weighed in while I was half asleep, I was wearing my big and heavy dressing gown and wasn't as thrilled by my results then I have been the last two weigh ins, then I realised I should probably take my dressing gown off and wallah! It has added almost a kilo onto my weight :p

I have lost 1.3kg this week which makes a total of 5.1kg lost since my start weight! This also means I get my first reward (I have allowed myself rewards when I reach certain weights) :D

O wow, that´s a LOT; well done! And here I was being annoyed because I hadn´t weighed myself before washing my hair and wondering what the extra water might weigh :p

Oh, well done Josey! 5.1kg altogether? Excellent :D
(I wouldn't dream of weighing myself with wet hair, a dressing gown........I step onto them gently....I am very thingy about it :blush5: )

I usually would only wear underwear but I was still have asleep :p
Yes, 5.1kg since I started this journey 2.5 weeks ago :) this week I'm going to be strict and work hard to try and get under 90kg!

So just a small update for today: I went swimming in public for the first time today in years, I had so much fun and my arms actually got a decent work out for once! :p

I'm bulk cooking today made some teriyaki chicken with brown rice and quinoa, shredded chicken (cooked in the slow cooker) for sandwiches and lots of chicken with mixed veg. Becoming more comfortable in the kitchen and trying new things which is also another minor step as I've always been a fussy eater :)

Progress on all fronts, very well done Josey. I went swimming quite a bit last summer, but not once this year... Which is silly because I love water. You're obviously braver than me!

I did wear shorts and a baggy shirt but other than that I wasn't phased like I usually am which I was thrilled about. Hopefully I'll go more often as it's so much fun and great for exercising almost everything :)

Well done Josey. I plan on swimming this Summer too. I haven't swim in public for many years. Go us!

Yay! It's very fun and after I felt really rejuvenated afterwards, it's pushing me just that bit further to get a gym membership so I can use the pool more frequently :p

Okay, so this week my exercise was very minimal and I didn't eat entirely clean (had some popcorn, chips and a bite of a cheeseburger :( ) but other than that my eating was clean, so I was fearing I would see weight gain this week, but luckily I had lost 0.9kg this week! Even though it wasn't my best week I still kept away from most temptations and a few bad things didn't ruin my entire journey (I'd usually be the kind of person who would eat bad once and say that my diet is ruined so I'll start again next week and continue to eat bad).

I'll be extremely keen to get back into this week with a goal to get myself under 90kg by next Sunday! :)

I need help. So I'm still remaining so well with my healthy eating and drinking only water, I also walk a lot but that so far as been my main form of exercising, so now I'd love to slowly ease myself into full body workouts but I'm still not very strong and definitely not very bendy :p
So I'd love to hear of any exercising which is great for beginners or any that helped you start working out lots :)

It all depends on what motivates you:
- Do you like group activities? Join a team sport.
- Do you need a little push to actually do what you said you were going to do? Sign up for classes.
- Do you love music more than anything? Try dance classes.
- Do you need to clear your head in the morning/evening? Get on your bike and ride!
- Do you like slow, focused activities? Strength training may be the way to go.

It doesn't really matter what you do, as long as you enjoy it enough to actually do it. Well done on sticking to your plans!

(He enters wearing philosopher's robes and holding a really thick book titled ("Things Smart Skinny People Know")
He speaks: "That is a very good question young one. The true answer concerning what exercise is best is...the one you will do...
Try several. Go to the library or online and see what has worked for others...then try them! Find what is more enjoyable to you."
(as he exits we see that he has another book hidden under the first one titled "Philosophy for Dummies")

I suggest getting in on the ground floor of your own new way of working out. Suggestions provided below:

Hmmmm. There may just be a full moon at the moment.
If you are not feeling motivated Josey, just do it anyway. Get out there hon, get moving & you'll feel better xoC

I LOVE the idea of reluctant exercise videos! In fact: if I had any kind of technical ability I'd be recording the first one today :D It works wonders on some of my clients...

Thanks everyone for the lovely suggestions, I'll definitely work out a routine this week (however I'll be working lots this week :( so I might not get around to doing it much)

Today officially marks my first month on this weight loss and healthy life style journey! I also weighed myself and lost 1.4kg which makes my overall weight loss 7.4kg ANDDDDD I am now under 90kgs for the first time in years!!! So today has been a big day and I'm so proud with what I've accomplished so far! :D

Great work, Josey, congratulations! Lots of work means no time for snacking to me, which could be a silver lining to your cloud.
