Hi...

So after browsing through the site...I have decided to start my diary as well...hopefully it will help (fingers crossed) as i have started the Process many times but I can never seem to continue..:(
Also I am lazy and I hate Exercise (Problem 1) .

I can easily continue eating healthy till evening but then the real struggle starts, I dont know why but I crave high calorie food and sweets after the evening and get very angry generally if i go hungry or donot eat what i want then (Problem 2)..

I am writing the Diary now although the day is not over bcoz otherwise i might mess it up in the evening and start the process altogether next Monday...(i hope it doesnt happen)..:p
So,
I currently weight 187 Lbs ,
Target Weight : 125 Lbs in 8 Months i.e (To lose 62 Lbs by December'16)
Also i am a Vegeterian and dont eat Eggs either.

DAY 1

It is just 3.30 pm but I am posting in the Diary anyways...
I have started the Day with a glass of water with half lemon,
For Breakfast I had 1 cup of Tea with 1tbsp Sugar & Milk, and 1 Wheat Flour Naan with Little butter.
at around 12.00 I had 75 gm of low calorie Biscuit,
For lunch i had 1/2 cup cooked Pulses and 1/2 cup yogurt.
Still no exercise done...hoping to start Today....

I hope to continue writing daily ;)
 
Welcome! Looks like you're off to a good start. I too need to start exercising. I used to be vegan. You can lose weight being vegetarian and not eating eggs, as long as you eat healthy food. Do you eat fish? Just curious.
 
Hi Ekta & welcome to the forum. I find I need to have protein with each of my meals to satisfy my hunger. Try to just add a little exercise each day until it becomes a habit. I have started doing 20 squats in the morning & now it feels weird if I haven't done them. Every little change you make for the better adds up. I find writing in my diary each day keeps me focussed. It's easy to slip back into old habits. Once again, a big welcome :)

Hi Butterfly88, i hope i lose weight this time...but there are so many delicious vegetarian recipes that it is really difficult to eat healthy & also my mom cooks amazing food and it is hard to resist..:).
No i dont eat eggs.. in simple terms , Vegeterian = Vegan + Dairy Products.

Hi Cate, as i had written earlier , my day was started good but as i said i messed up for dinner by Eating 3 Buttered Breads, 2 glass coke, 1 bowl vegetable & i bowl rice + i bar chocolate...& i am so ashamed of myself right now..However I exercised for 15 min with the help of some videos & also i played Badminton for 15-20 minutes (this i am happy about bcoz atleast i started exercising)....as you have suggested i might also start with Squats ... I hope today goes better & i will post about it tomorrow & please any kinds of tips will be appreciated..:)
 
Day 2:

Hi Everyone so I am writing my food diary for Day 2..
I have eaten healthy today (atleast no fried food) &
I also exercised for 20 minutes
(2-3 min spot running, 20 Squats, 80 jumping jacks and 2 more exercise)

Breakfast - 9.30 am
1/2 Sorghum Flour Tortilla, 1/2 cup flattened cooked Rice Flakes & 1 cup Tea

Lunch - 11.45 am
2 Sorghum Flour Tortilla, 1/4 cup Yogurt with graded Cucumber,

Mid afternoon - 3.45 pm
50 gms flattened rice Flakes,

Evening -
5.15 pm- 2 whole wheat bread Toast Slice with garlic + 1 cup Tea
7.30 pm- 1 glass Mango Milkshake

Dinner- 8.30 pm
2 wheat Tortillas,
1/2 cup boiled vegetable (cauliflower, green peas, potato, garlic & onion) with gravy,
1 cup buttermilk & 1 tsp Jaggery.

Also ate 3 candies in the whole day.

So overall it was a good day ...but i hope to improve..
Please can anyone suggest Exercise that can be done at Home..:)

Day 3:

So I have been eating healthy for past 2 Days..but i also had a cookie as i was craving sweet...i haven't eaten any kinds of Fried food also.
For exercise i did 20 Squats & 40 Jumping Jacks...
I will try to increase the Exercise from today...

Sounds like you're doing pretty well. I think you'll find that as you eat less sugar, you won't want it as much.
 
Hi ekta. I'm glad you thought that doing squats was a good suggestion. I just find them easy to fit in my day. The less sugar you have, the less you will crave. Try replacing the sugar with some fruit. Cheers, Cate.

1/4 cup Tea + 1 Spiced Herbs Tortilla

Lunch -
1 cup steamed rice batter cakes (aka Dhokla)

Mid afternoon -
2 almonds,

Evening -
1 Glass Banana Milkshake (w/o sugar) + 1/2 Tortilla

Dinner- 8.30 pm
3 wheat Tortillas,
1/2 cup cooked vegetable (cabbage, potato,
1 cup buttermilk & 1 tsp Jaggery.

For exercise i did 20 Squats & 80 Jumping Jacks ,
Other 3-4 Exercises as well (overall 20 min)

Day 5:

Breakfast:
1 Plain Wheat Tortilla + 1 cup tea

Snacks:
2 almonds & 4 Light calorie biscuits

Lunch:
1/2 cup cooked Lentils

Evening:
1/2 cup tea + 2 paper thin tortillas + 3 baked puff Pastry

Dinner :
1 Glass Banana Milkshake w/o sugar + 3 steamed Lentil cake + 1/2 cupSplit pigeon peas Dal.

Also around 10.30 :
1 Paper thin tortilla (aka Khakhra).

However No Exercise Done Today...:(

Day 9

I have not eaten any Fried Food, Soda's in 9 Days...
Also I have Exercised atleast 20 minutes for 6 of the 9 Days.
& I have reduced 2 Pounds... :)Also i had 1 chocolate Bar Yesterday..I hope i am not back to my Original Weight.

Today onwards i hope to increase my Exercise upto 30 Min..

Day 10
So I have been eating healthy for past 10 days .However I may have eaten High Sugar or Fat Foods few times (But Not at all Fried or Sodas or Cheese).
Also I have exercised for atleast 6 of the 10 Days.
I just weighed myself and i have gained 2KG :mad:

before i started Exercising or eating Healthy, my weight was atleast constant..and i am so depressed right now and i feel like crying .. :(
So please HELP ME OUT!!!! bcoz i reallly want to lose weight.

The best plan I've ever followed was Weight Watchers. It really changed the way I look at food and how important it is to vary it. Maybe you could have a look?

I know that seeing the numbers on the scale is disheartening and frustrating, but try to focus on the fact that you're getting healthier. Weight fluctuates loads and scales aren't always accurate, and sooner or later your body will figure it out. So just keep going, and maybe you need to tweak a few things diet wise?

Don't give up!
