Saks getting fit (mind, body and soul)!

16 Feb, Tuesday (Day 9)

Was at home again.

Food: milk with energy mix
Breakfast/Snack/Lunch: Didn't feel like having home food...so ordered a breakfast platter...baked beans, mushrooms, pancake (small), jam, 4 small potato roll and small piece of bread. I skipped lunch as this was a heavy breakfast
Snack: milk with energy mix
Dinner: Again a mix of stuff. Rice, lentils, tofu, bread and potatoes

Well not proud of what all I eat...as it had sugar and fired stuff. No cold drink or chocolate. The key is to plan in advance what to eat and make at home. It's tough to find a healthy choice from outside (except salads)

Hi Saks. I put 'dieting" on hold with my sister visiting but am showing some self-restraint. I have decided to get straight back into 5:2 on Sunday when she heads home. I feel really fat & miss that slim feeling. I am not hopping on the scales until next Monday. I'm going to have a set plan to start in March, which will involve daily exercise, 5:2 & 1500cals per day max.

Cate..hope you are having an amazing time. Its so awesome to eat, talk, shop with sisters. I have two sisters...now in two different continents. All the best for your diet in the coming week.

I have a short trip coming up. I am excited and nervous. I was a regular domestic and international traveller. I have not travelled anywhere big in the last 1.5 to 2 years. I avoid all trips fearing I will fall unwell...low sugar/BP. But, I feel more confident now...and I will not think too much about it. Just go ahead and enjoy the trip.

Just realised, I joined the forum exactly 5 years ago. Thank you to the forum and community...for the support and encouragement to move closer and achieve our health goals. It means a lot to me.

Breakfast: milk with energy mix
Breakfast/Snack/Lunch: Again, was working from home and didn't have much cooked food. Ordered from outside and had that as brunch. This was couscous, vegetables in butter garlic sauce, pitta, little strawberry preserve and hummus. It was the most healthy option available for delivery
Snack: Milk with energy mix
Dinner: Again no cooked food (I need to get better at having food at home). Will order from outside...but will try to be healthy

Exercise
None till now...but will do 30 min walk. I have two hour conference call today. I will walk while others talk,
 
18 Feb, Thurs (Day 11)

Working from home again. Will go to office tomm.

Food
Breakfast: milk with energy mix, one wheat bread with butter, tofu in spices
Lunch: 2 tortilla, potato and peas, tofu in spices, plain yogurt
Snack: Milk with energy mix
Dinner: Semolina, lentils

Exercise
Was raining so couldn't go out in morning. 30 min walk in evening.

Thanks cate! I am stuck still at 55 kg. Will not give up. The last kgs are so tough. Will make it happen.!
 
19 Feb Friday ( Day 12)

Went to office to attend imp meeting.

Food
Breakfast: milk with mix, 1 wheat tortilla with butter, potatoes and pea, 1 large orange
Snack: subway vegetarian sandwich and one small glass orange soda ( had soda craving before the meeting)
Dinner: milk with mix, rice

Walk
Unable to walk in morning. Just going now for 30 min walk
 
20 Feb, Saturday (day 13)

Breakfast: milk very little, sautéed vegetables with some noodles
Snack: 2 orange
Lunch: rice beans 1.5 tortilla yougurt and small fried sweet. The food was too heavy...also had 3 sips orange soda
Snack: half apple
Dinner: not decided.

21 feb Sunday ( day 14)

Its again the same. All of it...boredom, headache, restlessness. Need for chocolates, sweets And soda.

Terrible..yes, feeling low. I don't think that this 5 kg will come off. Feeling worthless and ugly. Its not about the weight. Its about wanting to try ...but getting side tracked. Its about unable to make and achieve such a small change. Its about feeling stuck.

I know exactly why...bcos I am bored. There needs to be something exciting, small achievement. Feeling good about yourself.

Ok...so end of Feb...no change in weight. Feeling disappointed....but I will not give up. I will not.

I went for the trip..was amazing...this was my first trip after 1 to 1.5 year of no travel. I had stopped travelling in fear of low BP and Low sugar. I really enjoyed it. The confidence the new found freedom of being able to walk and move around freely....and not running to choc/cold drink etc as instant energy boosters

Anyway on th e flip side...I looked fat in photos...because I have gained 5 kg..that I will remove. Also I have a round face making it even more chubby when I have extra weight. Also I have been struggling with pimples and a new one pops up every 2-3 days. Last 2-3 months have been very uncertain in office. I might have a role change...and there are endless meetings. I hope things get clear soon.

Ok...so atleast I am not running away from the truth. An important part is self awareness. A realisation of what the true picture is. Here are my remedies and next step

1. Health is my number 1 goal now: It cannot be my 2-3 priority. This is key. Which means I will be more diligent in tracking progress and making efforts in my health. I visualise success and what I will look and feel like once I achieve my goals.
2. Food: I need to make more serious changes. I will not have any refined flour. Also reduce gluten. Be careful of unhealthy snacks and sweets. Before I eat, I need to be sure that am I doing my body a favour..or am I attacking and jeopardising my own health.
3. Exercise: 30 min walk, 10 min cycle or 10 min dance
4. Skin: I have been unhappy with the piples. I use more and more concelars. That leads to more breakouts. I have avoided medicine...with the fear that the dempgraphism will increase. I will meet a dermatologist this week to see what can I do..and take medicines if required
4. office: Yes, the uncertainty about work has been stressful and played a part in my eating wrong and just being unhappy. Need to get a clarity and move forward with it

I visualise the future...what I would be and feel about my self...and look once I achieve my goals. So this is important for me...and its now my number 1 priority.

Aiming for: reduction of 5 kg in next 3 months.
 
Feb 29th

Food
Breakfast/Lunch: 3 bean salad (160 Kal) and orange
Dinner: Grilled vegetables and Tofu (300 Kals) and one bread piece

Exercise
walk for 30 min

Food choices much better. Found restaurants that deliver healthy food. Booked an appointment with a dermatologist tomm.

Booked tickets for another trip in 2 week of March.
 
March 1st, Tuesday

Food
Breakfast: Lentil soup, tofu, 1 slice bread, , milk with chocolate mix
Lunch: Salad (150 kal), soup (around 100 Kal)
Snack: milk with chocolate mix, 2 bread lettuce and cheese (Lunch was light so wanted to have something in the evening
Dinner: 1 plate Semolina with vegetables

Walk
25 min

Went to the dermatologist. Got medicines. Was good to take help for problems.

My office role remains unclear. I don't know if I will get the new role. However, I will still have the old role. But enough of waiting and thinking about this. Need now to focus on self and things that are important to me.
 
March 2, Wed

Food
Breakfast: milk with chocolate mix, semolina (left from yesterday night)
Lunch: carrot and orange cold soup, corn and pepper salad
Snack: milk with chocolate mix
Dinner: Soup or lentils and a lettuce sandwich

Exercise
30 min walk
1 hour of light dance (practicing for dance performance)

started medicines. So skin is getting better. Will take off tomorrow for some shopping. There is a trip coming up next weekend.
