From alpha testing to the QUERCUS 200

Hi Stacy! I'm feeling pretty good, but that's because I've been sticking to the bland diet. I had my pad Thai Friday night and that was fine. I've made a list of safe ingredients from the things I've eaten without issue. Mostly it's been pressure cooked beans and boiled potatoes. The doctor's visit is tomorrow, but I'm guessing he will just tell me to go to the allergist.

I'm guessing that I will just have to slowly build a safe list of ingredients which means I'll end up eating something that makes me sick again.

Friday and Saturday were both fast half hour runs with 3.4 and 3.3 miles in 30 minutes. Today was an easy mile to recover. I got my new GPS watch that E ordered for my Xmas in Friday night as it got delayed. I really like it so far and it has a hr sensor built into the wrist nd fitbit like and smartwatch functions in addition to the gps stuff. It pretty sweet. Garmin 235 if anyone is interested.

256.0 both days this weekend.

They both seem like very fast runs to my inexperienced eye Q. It sounds like E has chosen well with your xmas present. Clever woman, your wife! :)
Re: your food allergies. I can't face the prospect of re-introducing gluten into my diet to make sure I am Coeliac, so I can't even imagine what you might be facing! It sucks!

Good luck with your elimination diet - it sucks but at least it´s an investment in a less sucky future.

With all that running you deserve a fancy Garmin! I've got an entry level one (15) and am just now getting into using the heart rate monitor. Having it on my wrist would be amazing. The whole waiting to get sick thing sounds pretty awful :-( Especially while still maintaining a run streak (super impressed with that dedication, by the way). Are there different levels of sick? Like if you only get exposed to a tiny amount of something vs eating a spoonful?

So I am off to the doctor shortly which hopefully means I will have some advice on this food junk this evening.

254.8 this morning which is 5 pounds down since the end of December.

I am very careful not to reintroduce any ingredients that are shared between meals that made me sick. The sickness varies between bad and worse from not functioning normally to should I go to the hospital.

Thanks Cate LaMa Oaks!

So new medicine for when I get an allergic reaction and an updated version of my preventative asthma stuff. An appointment with an immunoligist is in the works. E whipped up yummy dinner from my safe foods. A short very cold run for day 411 o' the runstreak. Doc said my labs were perfect.

Good old E! and Yeah on the lab work. Good luck with the immunoligist. Doyou know how quickly the appointment will come through?

Shame about the food illnesses, Q. I hope you can get it all sorted.

The good news is it sounds like the rest of your stuff has gone well, so if you can get the allergy sorted, you'll be in great shape.

It's nice to hear you use the word 'yummy' instead of 'bland' for a change! Who is the chef in your house, if you don't mind me asking?

I have an appointment for this Friday which is awesome!

The pneumonia vaccine has me feeling a bit bleh today. My entire arm is quite sore too.

E is the chef Oaks. I used to be the grill guy, but just meats so that has gone away. I got on a cheese making kick but that's gone too. I make a good BBQ sauce and cornbread. I also make salsa only I will eat (no garlic all fire). Everything else was game meat, meat, or dairy related.

This Friday? Excellent! Yay for E & her cooking skills :) The pneomonia vaccine knocks me about too Q & my arm hurts for days afterwards. I really, really hope you don't find you're allergic to chillies

Best Wishes for your Friday appointment! :)

I have been going through strange "Rashes." What is going on in Texas I ask?! lol

Only once they were all over (scaly, bumpy, itchy patches..Circles-tiny patches-long whelp like patches-streaks) Had Dr. completely stumped! As of late, I will just be affected on face/neck.. Driving me nuts!

I have used Olay products for years/have whole skin care line (expensive) and put all that up and bought all Aveeno - Ultra Calming and that seems to be working a lot better.

I will still have certain days though where it just pops up??!! Now that ins. is renewed for New Year I have to make a day to get to Dermatologist! Driving me crazy!

Thanks Cate! I'm fairly sure it's not chilies, but that would be awful.
Thanks Stacy! My skin has always been an issue. Dry skin irritation in the winter, heat rash in summer, and allergy related rashes for spring and fall. It's actually the best it has been in my life so I can't complain. I try to use soap and lotion without the scents and simple ingredients. Same goes for the detergent.

So 257.8 this morning for a big jump up. I'm hoping it's related to the vaccine and the arm soreness. It feels better and I feel much better overall. Ran 1 mile yesterday, but I will be heading to the gym for a hard run tonight.

Another BBQ falls to a plant based diet? You can still grill peppers and onions but it's definitely not the same.

Maybe we should turn the grills into a Kale or Tomato planter?

I'm sorry your allergies are causing such issues, and I hope your appointment on friday helps you figure things out!
I can't believe your run streak is still going! That's crazy dedication!! Awesome!

I still use the side burner to season our cast iron pans and it's innards aren't separable from the main grill or I would have ditched it already. The burners and the cast iron grates need replacing in the main grill, but it's not worth the money for grilled veggies.

Thanks LaMa! I had a great run last night.

Thanks Mystic! Good to hear from you again!

254.4 this morning which means yesterday was a blip. 3.4 miles in 30 minutes last night for day 413 of the runstreak.

Hi Q! Hope you're havin' a GREAT Day! ;)

Funny story re: Cast Iron Skillets...

I Love mine and they are perfectly seasoned and non-stick now after years of use/care..

A Friend was talking about one of my "Cast Iron Skillet Recipes" and how he could not figure out why his kept rusting and havin' so many issues?!

He was using SOAP and putting them in Dishwasher!! :eek2:

Holy Crap! lol

Told him how to properly care for and use them.. :)

While ours don't rust the seasoning is thinner than it could be because my wife scrubs it too much. No soap or dishwasher but she is very thorough about scrubbing it. That's why I need the burner to reseason occasionally.

254.6 this morning and I'm about to head to the immunologist. 3.3 miles last night for day 414. I'm planning a longer run this weekend.
