About sit-ups

Hi everyone!!!!! I was just wondering and I don't know much about excersizing. I am quite tubby with a tubby face, I am trying to do something about it and as a start I have being doing sit-ups every morning and every night. Will this also take some of the fat off my face Or should I do something else for that?? Its probably obvious how excersizing your stomach won't effect your face but I just want to make sure.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol your British arent you i know when i see stones as your weight most people are probably like what the hell does that mean lol but i have bumped into this before lol

here for pounds your weight is 168-182

and for americans here is Kg 76.20-82.55

and ya mostly when you do situps its just the abs lol

but if your serious in getting in shape like 4-5 days a week should have Cardio one day and Full Body workout the next its up to you for how much you want to do and how long

look around the site people have there workout schedule all over so look at them and think what can you do

also your probably in high school so you can use school workout room for free probably and if ya equipment at home all the better

but you are 15 so i wouldnt worry about working out like crazy because you got your whole life ahead of you and were young. im 19 and i been working out 6 days a week for 3 weeks now and have had amazing results so because we are young and our metabolism gives us advantage over changing our bodies easily. just basically eat better foods workout once a day from 30-1hr and you will see results in no time

This simply is not true. :):)

The Diet is the fat burner first and foremost and without question. If the diet is messed up---you can do cardio until the sun goes out (or even HIIT), and the fat will not come off. The correct way (or one way to say it) is: To burn fat one has to be in a caloric deficit (created through exercise, or just diet, or a combination of both diet and the exercise complimenting the diet). Cardio by itself DOES NOT get rid of fat---UNLESS, the diet is on the up and up. Once the diet is straight, THEN cardio could assist in the fat burning process--dependent on several bodily factors. By the way, where is the DIET mentioned in here?! Get the diet in order FIRST, and then the other suggestions are just fine to work with to see if works for you.

Nope. When you lose fat, it comes from where it comes from and you have no role in that decision. Doing sit ups will build muscle (minimal) on your stomach, but it won't make any fat come off. Even if it does, it will come from any and all areas of your body. They call what you're looking for 'spot-reducing' and it's not something you can do. Focus on your diet and some general exercise and it'll happen, but not just off of your belly.

thats why i talked about being young our bodies are different then most people like i chose to start getting in shape in sept 06 from there till 3 weeks ago i went from 165+ to 150 by just working out on my home gym 30min a day and not doing any cardio lol and i still lost weight without changing up diet at all

i told this in one of my college classes and my teacher and some of the students gave me the dirtiest looks lol because i was losing weight so easily they blamed it on my metabolism so i guess it must be because i never changed anything all i did was started working out and eat whatever i want

but now like said above for 3 weeks i have began a real transformation of my body by focusing on what i eat and having full body workouts and cardio back and forth 6 days a week

easy way to track stats is by using fitday program and if you dont use computers much and would like to do it by hand just buy a journal

heres a link to fitday you can use the online version for free

i will make a photo gallery for my transformation its a 90 day process i took pics at day 13 but will take pics again at day 30,60,90 im currently at day 21

hopefully more people will become interested in this program because i have had excellent results the program i use currently is P90 but after im done that im going on to P90X

I hope this info helps you and that the forums and other members can help to succeed in getting in shape like they helped me

You may not have changed your diet, but it still does not change the fundelmental equation: the law of calorie balance. Through DIET AND CARDIO, if there is a caloric deficit present---long enough and persistant enough, one will lose weight. I know one thing WHEN ANYONE loses weight (that is healthy), the caloric equation MUST be on the negative side. Created through exercise or just diet. I would not have looked at you funny, I would have just have known that the fundelmental equation was at work, bottom line. Eating clean TAKES A BACK SEAT to the this fundelmental equation (not discussing anything else relative here). One does not lose or gain---tissue---unless this law is met: I dont care what one does.

You simply were not eating enough (deficit) with the exercising you were doing or You were eating enough and the exercising was causing the caloric deficit--it is one or the other. The calorie is the ultimate king, and the nutrients in those calories can be the decision maker. In other words if you were (and it sounds as if you had), to clean up or watch more carefully the type of foods you eat, it could bring more optimizing results, rather than just flying by the seat of the pants.

By the way, congrats on your results. Very happy for you.

Just don't go crazy and eat like 1000 calories a day and do cardio for hours on end every day...you'll look BAD!

Especially if you lose muscle tone, then there's only bone...yuck!
