So who watched the fight? I myself was expecting a bit more of getting knocked down and maybe a TKO, but it was a great fight nonetheless.

It was a good fight IMO, "The Fight To SAVE BOXING".
Will it be talked about for years to come.... No
Did it get pretty boring.... Yes
Should Mayweather retire... No
Too me it looked like they were fighting at 80%, they both looked fine post fight. Mayweather won the fight, but De La Hoya made the real cash.

Before boxing became 'commercialized' (like almost everything else) and before it became about multi million dollar bouts you had to beat a champion before becoming one.
It was a draw at best. Mayweather doesn't fight, he's a runner who backed away and a trash talker whose ego is bigger than his game.
But at least he didn't come out in all the pomp and glory a la gladiator style. I expected him to come in on a clydesdale and a sword and metal helmet LOL

MMA Fighting > Boxing IMO. When I watch boxing, I'm always looking for a take down. Or yelling "Why doesn't he throw an elbow!" Lol.
I like brazilian MMA, no gloves, no rules!
