You've said all that needs to be said.

very interesting read...

Could go any way as of now, bu heres something to REALLY think about...

I post on a football forum and today there was a heated discussion about the NFL possibly rigging superbowls. After 9/11 the "PATRIOTS" come from nowhere to win with the help of a very controversial call (tuck rule...) against the raiders to get to the superbowl, and then somehow beat the rams who were supposed to be much better then them.

Then after jon gruden is traded to tampa bay, he ends up in a super bowl rematch with his old nemesis, Al Davis. He beats his hated old boss and then both teams fade away and havent been succesfull since.

Last year the steelers make the superbowl, jerome bettis is a huge public figure who was coaxed into coming back for another year. The superbowl is played in detroit, his hometown. He wins his ring in front of his entire family and then retires. Anyone who watched that game can tell you that the refs were very biased towards the steelers.

Now after the tragic hurricane katrina the saints end up getting one of the top prospects to come out of college in a decade. The texans GM passes on bush so that the saints can pick him, and then he quit. where is that GM now? working in the NFL office. Now the saints are poised to make the superbowl despite finishing 3-13 last year and having a new coach.

Also look at this: pats, steelers, ravens, rams, broncos, all recent superbowl champs and all recently built new stadiums. Seats have to be filled and the NFL has a revenue sharing system...Everybody wins and they all make money by promoting teams with new stadiums.

Im not saying I believe this, but it is an interesting theory to think about. Proffesional sports have proven to have been rigged before (baseball) and its not out of the realm of possibility to think that the NFL may be as well. At the same time, it would be extremely difficult to pull something like this off so I very much doubt its true.

Anyways, just thought Id share that, formulate your own opinion from these facts, I still think theres no conspiracy, but if the saints win the superbowl this year with some obvious help from the officials then i will reconsider.

Manning finally brings a big game to the post-season and the Welshmans prediction comes true.

A lifetime of watching the sport vs a few months... ;)

Lmao. Well, I guess it was bound to happen eventually (like a ton of years!) But hey, it's not that big a game without a superbowl ring. Which I hope he doesn't get :D (yes, I still dislike Peyton)

Colts will probably win superbowl, but I will be rooting for the bears to sweep the turf with them =]

If the bears defense can pick off a ball or two of paytons early on i believe the bears can easily win. I hope they do at least because i HATE the colts.

And aslong as Rex can keep his own head under control they have a shot
As the only way The bears will loose is if Rex looses the battle with his own nervs
For the record i can not wait untill the bears replace rex, he is a damn IDIOT, Trying to call two time outs in a row and walking off field can you say "slow"?
If rex has a bad first half in the super bowl head coach smith better put in that backup

I have never been pissed at Tom Brady before until last night when he threw that pick in the final 30-45 seconds. They were driving they could have won and then they draw up that crappy ass play. WTH were they thinking, Why would that kind of passing play even come up you know the colts are fast and they were hyped up of course they would pick off any ball that comes their way so you need to Isolate your Receivers one on one with a colts DB not send them through the damn Middle.
After that pick i just turned the tv off and left the room....

That Rex bloke is either very very clever or very very stupid - I've not seen enough of him to know which - but what he did was superb - if he knew that the officials cant give a penalty for calling two successive timeouts, then he's probably put up one of the best bits of gamesmanship for a long time.

Watch it again and watch how the Saints defence all look around not sure whats going on - that may well have been pre-planned to unset the defence.

If you watch his pass from that play, the receiver was wide open, he just plain missed him. Also while he's tried calling the 2nd of the time outs, the near-to-camera (his left) WR's both shift inwards - which is why I think it was pre-planned.

umm did you ACTUALLY watch that play?

the pass was outside the tackle box, hardly "over the middle", it was a curl route to the slot reciever, and the DB jumped the route... Maybe Brady didn't see him, but he hardly threw it directly at the DB. That DB made a hell of a play on that ball.

If you want to be upset with anyone about that game, be upset with the lack of defense that New England showed in the second half.

He didn't know.. hell Sean Payton didn't know either...

The only time its a penalty if your trying to ice the kicker or they have no timeouts left...

His head wasn't in the game, plain and simple. The defense had a blitz on (if I remember correctly), and they were even calling for the penalty when he tried to call the second time out. He was trying to audible out of the play instinctively tried to call a time out IMO.

and Chris... there was a penalty on that play, nobody on the field saw it in though. THose two wide outs were moving at the same time, it should have been an illegal shift.

Gotta go with my Colts! That's been my team since I lived there 10 years ago. The bears are pretty awesome though. Should be a great game

I really hope the bears win, I don't like either team much but I HATE the Colts. That said, Indy is a better all around team form a stronger division and would win all things being equal. I just hope that New England took enough out of the Colts and the emotions of beating the Patriots drains them enough tthat thye get a good ole case of Choke-itis in the Superbowl.

honestly i have no preference in the game, but would love to see rex grossman just own it all!
