First major injury - and its frustrating

So 3 weeks into hypertrophy I and all was going well. i was doing 2 good upper workouts a week, 1 lower as i need to get some balance, and an extra day for some different upper movements.

Football training and a match plus two HIIT sessions made up my cardio; eating more and timing my foods around workouts and results were showing. finally im getting more muscle although at the cost of some fat but hey, that can be fixed in a months time.

Then my brother noticed a lump on my knee, turns out to be my leg bone sticking out under my knee cap. id been aching but i presumed id twisted it it training so laid off the cardio for a week.

so off i go for a scan and ive got 3 weeks of no exercising on it till i get the results through!!!! and it bloody aches likes mad. my big plan to do a couple of decent runs of the xmas hols and have a few days out of the gym to recover some aching muscles was destroyed!

fingers crossed its not serious (although a contorted leg bone/knee/cartiledge surely cant not be) but no running for me.

anyway, what do i do? i can keep my upper days going, but can i still do straight deads or is it not worth it? any ideas for cardio workouts that dont use my legs? hand stand sprints?

one word. bugger.
 
I feel you're pain dude. about maybe 7-8 weeks ago i got hit by a car, tore the medial ligament in my knee, no squats for me. I can work upperbody though.

ask you're doctor or a physio about the deads. As for cardio.. upper body cardio perhapps? can you box? shadow boxing is good cardio, punching bag..

I got hit by a car when I was 10. Got a little scar on my right knee. But I was on a bike..
 
i enjoy boxing but the gym doesnt have one. my old one did and i spent a lot of time using the bag.

sounds like a good excuse to go out and spend some money in the new year!

it doesnt hurt when im using it, its just when i keep it still for a period of time and then move, or if im not doing anything that means im using the joint. i can still run, squat and kick a ball although i wont be until i know whats up.
