Tonight at wrestling practice it was amazing. I was the proudest of myself that I've been in a very long time.
Because we lost all 3 of our first matches Saturday, the coach was pissed. We did
-20 stairs
-very hardcore drilling, 10 different drills
-Live Wrestling
-25 minute incredibly intense conditioning (usually 15, and tonight was very very hard)
-15 stairs
Oh, and the kid that lost it for us on the third match at the end was made to do 500X500 (pushups/situps) after practice. The thing is, I've never seen a kid in so much pain with so much pride in what he was doing. He didn't get mad they had him do this, he knew it was his fault and was proud to be taking the pain. Amazing kid.
The part I wanna talk about is the Live Wrestling. When I got up to wrestle this kid who has an unbelievable amount of energy, I was nervous. After doing well and wrestling him for about 1-2 minutes, he got me in a hold where he locked his hands (can only do in pinning combos, this wasnt 1) across my face, and he was pulling my head farther and farther back. I swear, another 10 degrees and my neck would have snapped. But I didn't tap out, and after a while the captain (Armando) ran over and ripped the kid off and was yelling at him, and asking my if I was alright. I told him yea, but I was in a ton of pain.
In our practice matches, the first person to get points wins, and the match is over.
After about 10 minutes it came up to me and that kid again. In my mind I'm saying "I'm gonna rip the sh!t outta this kid" I was sooooo pissed. We started brawling tough for about 2 minutes and he almost got away (in referee position, if down man escapes he gets a point aka end of our practice match) but I took my right hand and with all I could, I locked onto his ankle. He tried to jump free but I had an incredibly airtight lock. I pulled it towards me and leaped from the ground onto him like a damn tiger. We ended up going about 20 feet away from our mats onto where the 189+s were wrestling. Then towards the end, he nearly got away again. The only thing in my mind I'm thinking of is what he did to my neck. So with everything I have, I lock onto him and swing my right leg infront of his and pop his knee cap so he falls. I made sure he landed hard onto his chest and face. Right away I get a Bar Arm and am trying to pin him, but like 2 189 guys are like tapping me yelling "thats points, thats points!!" so I got up and had 20-30 of the kids clapping for me. I even saw the coach and one of the captains smiling. It felt amazing! Woot!

I didn't know I had that beast inside of me. You really had to be there to see it, it was really an awesome match. Like 10 minutes long at least of nonstop fighting. God it felt good to not give up and to put that SOB in pain!
