I actually stopped training about a year ago when I decided to go back to school. However, I was training both ends of the spectrum. Even with my average, non-athlete clients, I would base my program design around compound exercises.
I have used all of them at one point or another. Anything that is vertical pushing or pulling, horizontal pushing or pulling, and all forms of compound leg movements including all variations of squats and deadlifts.
