Is there anything wrong with this tricep exercise?

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this here, but if its not allowed then just delete it

Is this guy doing the press down exercise the right way? Or to get a better exercise, should he be bringing the rope up higher instead of half way?

Also, doesn't it work the triceps harder if you sit on your knees while doing this?

And since hes doing 15 reps, thats not going to give him more strength will it? Its just going to tune up his triceps right?

Thats a great exercise, I do them the same way. I only bring them up halfway very slowly to keep an eccentric resistance on them. Never heard of doing them on the knees, but doesnt sound anymore beneficial to me. You're still doing the same motion with the same range of motion. More importantly, why is this guy in the gym with no shirt on?

Also this guys forearms are freakishly weird.

will this exercise workout the "inner" triceps? Inner as in when you have you armz at your sides, the part that "rub"s up against the side of your torso?

The tricep is the tricep is the tricep.

You will be looking for overall size if you want your inner arm constantly rubbing aginst your side, and a bunch of lat work.

You don't "spot" work parts of muscles, your going to just have to work the whole muscle.

Tric cablepresses is kinda crap imo, done loads and loads of em in the past but really didnt do much good - you'll get a pump sure but doesnt stress the tricep enough and you see in the videos how most of the effort goes into just stabilizing and keeping their bodies still. Go with free weights instead - combined with dips.

Well you'd only ever do these at the end of a workout wouldn't you...

I used to hit these at the end of a day just for some final isolation after skullcruchers or extensions.

For no other reason than there was a mirror right next to it ;)

I always use an ez-curl bar for those, bend a bit more forward and bring the bar up to my forehead. They actually work the abs too. I prefer to use the tricep rope for behind the neck overhead extensions.

he could let the eccentric contraction go a bit higher, but as long as you hit 90 degrees at the elbow, you're getting the proper range of motion.

pressdowns are a fine exercise, but shouldn't be teh bulk of your triceps moves...close grip bench, skull crushers, french press, and dumbell extensions (single or two handed) are the real growth masters.

and don't forget tris get hit on shoulder/military presses and any type of bench pressing...they are a small muscle, so don't overdo it.

I seem to get a better burn when I do pressdowns with a supinated grip. (I think they are called reverse pressdowns). I can't seem to use quite as much weight but the burn is much better.
