Hey, my name is Zach and I'm currently a senior in high school. I have tried a bunch of different diets and I would only loose a couple of pounds and then I would be back at my normal weight. I'm going to a weight loss doctor now, who gave me a new diet and exercise program, I started this around 2 months ago. I've already lost 49 pounds (weight 219). My original weight was 268 pounds (height 6'2). My goal is to get somewhere are 195-200 pounds, so thats like 20-25 more pounds to go. Anyway, I have work today (speaking of which, how many calories would I burn in a 7 hour shift, my job consists of lifting foods and putting them on the shelves, I work in the dairy department at my local food market).

zach, if you want an idea of what your burning at work.... you might want to try fitday.com or sparkpeople.com

Hi Zach,
Welcome to your diary :)

Losing 49 lbs in two months seems like a lot and it's pretty hard on the body. What kind of diet exactly did the doctor put you on?

Well, ry pha majority of the 2 months was me working everyday, outside, pushing carts (veyiscal work), for around 6-8 hours a day. I lost a majority of my weight then. During that entire time I was drinking gatorade and have stuff with sugar but I would just burn it off easily. I basically skip breakfast, have some protien stuff at lunch, and for dinner I usually have a small portion of what my parents are having. After that, I run around the block a couple of times.

that kind of sounds alarm bells for me as well, but if you're being monitored by your doctor, and you're getting the okay.... more power to ya. If you aren't, then you seriously need to talk to your doctor, or maybe even get a second opinion.

Any forum vet will tell ya, a healthy weight to lose is around 2 pounds per week.
