Hi everyone. So I got a new user name that reflects my positive thoughts! I have done the bloods and I am waiting for my eating plan. What I wanted to ask is if you have a favourite recipe that you use often and if you would share. I think the more variety the better. Also have you any tips or tricks that have helped you with your weight loss or food choices that have kept the hunger at bay.

Thanks

Sue

Hey Sue

A tip for when you start cohen's is to drink lots of water, rest up and relax- if you can start on a Friday and take work off so you have 3 days to get right and feel better.
The first few days you will be going through detox and it can be a little rough. Some people experience headaches, extreme hunger, lethargy and general un-well feelings. Dont worry about it though take a couple Panadol, relax, get some good sleep and it will be over before you know it. I find that if you binge the night before it doesn't help with the detox so try to especally limit milk, coffee, chocolate, large quantities of food and carbo's before you start. There is a thread called "Prepare for cohen's" that will help you a lot.

Cohen's is really wonderful once you get into it and you will be suprised how a small plate of food will fill you up and make you feel energised. A lot of people say that if you are feeling rather hungry (especally at the start) it is best to avoid the cheese, tofu (if you have asked for it) and yoghurt options as these are the least filling.

I am more than 4 months into cohen's now and have lost over 33kg's and dont experience hunger at all unless I wait for more than 7 hours for my next meal. I used to have insulin resistance so I would get extreme hunger before, but now it is a thing of the past. I am truley happy that I have chosen to do cohen's as it is the only answer for me and it WORKS!!! YAY

Come check out my diary "Nicole's London weight-loss journey" as I have a couple of my favourite recipies in there including my spicy prawns, cauliflower and feta soup and a couple of others.

Take care and congratulations for making the best decision of your life (well maybe one of them). Start to prepare your mind to say good-bye to weight forever :)

P.S what was your forum name before?

I definitely recommend the cauliflower and feta soup - fantastic!

My favourite Cohen meal is probably something harder to do in London, but I love a good piece of T-bone steak with pepper! I brown up the meat, pepper and button mushrooms, sometimes a little onion. I don't have this all the time, but it's a real "indulgence" meal. If I ever feel "deprived" on the diet, then this is the meal that really gets me in!

Apart from that, I keep it simple, and my very small diameter, heavy frypan is my best friend. A meal can be cooked in that in 5 - 10 minutes, and stir-fries Cohen-style are my main diet.

Do watch out for the de-tox headaches the first few days - there's not a lot you can do about it, but just don't have big plans and keep it quiet. Once you are through them, it gets a lot easier after that. Drink lots, rest up, take a bath or whatever comforts you (except eating!).
