Hi everyone, I thought I'd finally start a diary thread over here.
I'm not going to record my food intake in here every day, because I feel guilty taking up space, and I'm already recording it each day in a forum that I share with one other friend who is also trying to lose weight. So, I won't bore you all with my nibblings, but know that I am keeping track
Calorie counting is probably harder for me than most people. Because of my beliefs about corporate food production, I don't eat pre-packaged foods. So, very little food that I eat comes with nutrition info on it. Most of it comes from local markets and individual merchants. Well, of course many if not most of the things I eat, I could look up online, but that's SO much of a time commitment, and it's hard or impossible with a lot things too. I'm trying a method that involves making very healthy choices and watching my portion size. So far, it's very slow but definitely steady progress. I'm shooting for losing about 1 lb per week. If I don't achieve this without calorie counting, I guess I will suck it up and find a way to count calories.
As I said in my newbie introduction thread, the main reason for my journey into better eating & better living is that in about two years my husband and I want to start trying to get pregnant. Since this is such a faraway goal, it's a little bit hard to keep my focus, but I'm trying really hard anyway! Some people that I've met on this site have been very helpful & inspirational, and I intend to stick around here for good to keep myself in line. So, everybody get on my ass and remind me to work hard!
Love, Alex
