wrist injury

every now and then my wrist will act up when I strain it, and I have a hard time bending it even 35-40 degrees in either direction. it hurts right on the top of my wrist. when I was a child, I had a sist there, but it went away and the doc never thought anything of it. I know I should probably see doctor, and I will sooner or later, but for now I have a couple of questions:


1. What is it?

2. Do I HAVE to quit lifting weights? usually curling is ok, with the exception of when its hurting. when doing push-ups I use something for a handle, but I I cant see my self doing anything for the biceps or triceps. any idea how to work these mucles without killing my wrists?

BTW, I think my wrist is acting up because of some heavey equipment I was moving. I dont believe my lifting routine is the cause.
