would this be a good idea?

before i used to think ppl lied that ur muscles growed when u were resting, cause whenever i worked out my muscles used to get pumped up untill i started getting injuries. near the end of like 1-2 weeks of resting id measure my arm size and it would be like 0.5 - 1 inch bigger. i went from 12 inch to 12.55 inch once and i rested 1 week, and im sure it wasnt fat which i put on cause i still had the muscle shape. ive took 2 rests (1 week long) in the past 3 months and ive seen tremendous increase in size aswell as strenght, something ive never seen in 3 years of working out

so i think at the end of every month or so u should take a full week rest to catch up with the recovery u have missed out

would this be waste of time or could it be usefull ?

thanks
post ur ideas

actually i think most people take a week off every 8 weeks or so. i've heard of taking a break every 6 months also. so i dunno. i only take a week break after around 3 months when i just feel like relaxing all week.

Yeah I was gonna say around 3 months as well, I'm sure people will have different opinions, but every month may be a little bit too much rest

as already stated, a week off every 2-3 months does wonders for your training.
it helps the CNS recover, so you can have more productive workouts.
it also allows muscles to completely heal without another 'teardown' phase from a workout.

finally i found something out which actually does work BY MYSELF :D
this is like discovering something new (for me atleast :D)

another thing i found out that training each muscle group once a week is enough. ive seen more results from working out my leg muscles once every week for 3 weeks than the result i got from working out my other muscles (biceps etc) for more than 3months.

and ideas on this guys ?
