Worried about Loose skin

Hello, I am a 19 year male who has just recently lost 20Kg in 3 months (went from 100kg to 80kg). To do this i did a mixture of dieting and exercises. However, i am worried that if i continue to lose weight that my skin will become lose (as i have a feeling already that it is beginning to feel lose).

What can I do to prevent loose skin before it becomes a problem for me? I feel that most of my weight lose was due to exercise, should that help? Also, should my age be of any benefit to me?

Cheers

your ae will definitely have a benefit for you. even if you get some loose skin, it'll tighten up in short order. just keep drinking your water.

I sympathize, I have been practically consumed by worry about loose skin throughout. It has helped very little that along the way I have had people close to me compounding that fear by feeding me bad information and telling me areas I know are still fat on me are nothing but loose skin.

I was 250 pounds and hearing "oh that's loose skin you will never lose it" but just kept plugging away at it anyway and kept dropping weight month after month.

Don't let worry and negative reinforcement get you down on it (if you have negative influences bothering you that is.) You are definitely lucky in that you are very young and your skin should be amazingly resilient. Just be glad you didn't wait till you were 45.

Cool, thanks guys, makes me feel better :)

What about stretch marks? are there any chance of them healing over time? I have also heard that they are permanent...

stretch marks can fade. I've had mine since high school, and people tell me they dont really notice them (when I was in high school people thought I was cutting myself or something because of them. That was always embarrassing, but they were bright red then).

I have terrible skin, so if mine can fade anyone's can. (I never used any creams or anything either. I know Vitamin E is good for the skin and scarring, so maybe it will help with stretch marks?)

You really just need to let time do its work and not fret over it. Stretch marks are a lot more attractive than fat.

I have an excessive amount of extra skin which can only be removed through surgery which I wont be able to afford and insurance will not pay for it.

I feel good about losing alot of weight but I am so disgusted with my body and fear I will never find anyone out there to love me for me and not be scared of my body.

I did it to myself and I am not playing a pity party but I dont know how to accept it and open myself up to meet someone. =(

Anyone else in a similiar situation??

Pregnant women worry about stretchmarks all the time but we learn after giving birth that there are a bunch of great creams and lotions out there that do help the stretchmarks. Coco butter is awesome. Really helps. I've also been dilligently using Dove Skin Firming Lotion. It's about the same price as regular lotion and it keeps my skin looking great. So far no loose skin and I've lost 40 pounds. It may be the lotion or it may just be any lotion. Either way, I'm sold.
