workout music

I know there is a similar thread with the "what are you listening to now" thread but thought this has a different focus. What or who do you listen to when your working out?

I have found that I prefer different music for my weight training as opposed to my cardio. For the weight workouts, Ive been listening to: Rage, Pantera, Madball, DMX, Tool, and my buddy's band Homicidal. I find the loud angry music gets me pumped. :yelrotflmao:

Cardio...I can deal with some mellower music, usually something uptempo but doesnt need to be nearly as loud. Chili peppers, classic rock, etc.

I like Disturbed - Down With The Sickness.

It makes me want to rip someones limbs off and beat them with it.....;)

I like Dance/Techno for cardio.

I listen to all types of music when i workout or run.
Listen to Ram stein..disturbed..trance..rap ( Eaze-e , biggie, snoop dogg )
w/e im in the mood in.

Dude metal is the best for me when working out.

Last night it was Rebel Meets Rebel.

I was listening to Ministry on the treadmill the other night and I just wanted to keep running faster. I actually was up to 9.5 on it. The fastest I've done
while listening to Psalm 69 LOL

I made a workout CD with the following tracklist:

God of Wonders-Excito (trance version)
Extreme Ways-Moby
Launch-DJ Jean (classic trance song)
Sandstorm-darude (another classic trance song)
Ready Set Go-Paul Oakenfold
Rockafeller Skank-Fatboy Slim
Blue Monday-Orgy
Smells Like Teen Spirit-Nirvana
Sweet Child of Mine-GNR
Hell's Bells-AC/DC
Galvanize-Chemical Brothers
Enjoy the Silence-Depeche Mode

I don't really like that kind of music. I mostly listen to psytrance but i must say that song is farking awesome.

Anything sung by...

Rehab
UB40
Bob Marley
Tropical Downbeat
The Black Seads
Conchord Dawn
My Chemical Romance
Michael Jackson

Im really digging Rehab and Tropical Downbeat at the moment but nothing beats some Conchord Dawn.

For heavy lifting Metal usually gets the best effect but I find slower to mid tempo heavy songs are better than fast ones.
Disturbed is good. Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory album is pretty good too.

For more cardio related workouts I find any rock songs do fine, listening to the radio is just as good.

When doing resistance training, metal. Disturbed is probably the best music to lift weights by that I can imagine. The song "Indestructible" definitely does it for me. Lately, however, I've been doing it sans music. No idea why.

For cardio I use a pre-made trance mix that was specifically made to be workout music. The song structure is timed for doing interval cardio, with tempo changes dictating when to switch to rest phases and when to switch to sprint phases. I downloaded it off of a site called intervalmp3. It's great stuff to do interval cardio by, and my preferred method of cardio is jumping rope.

When I run, I listen to:

Japanese Popstars - Destroy

Queens of the Stone Age - almost all of the tracks from 'Songs for the Deaf'

Any remix with Christian Bale saying the word "*****" and really meaning it.

Edit for swear filter - the word is - eff you see kay

When im doing weights I tend to listen to Heavy Metal as well, just find it motivates me and gets me in the mood. Whenever I am doing cardio, will listen to Hip Hop, Trance, Dance, just depends really in what mood im in on the day.

A couple of songs that tend to get me moving more so;
Slipknot - Wait and Bleed
Living Colour - Cult of Personality
Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff

when lifting i like metal/rock... Mushroomhead, Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage, Slipknot are some favs
I like more laid back music for cardio, Scotty Dont, Sabotage Soundsystem, Sublime... Helps me set paces and usualy has some good tempo changes. also i love the lyrics which helps keep my mind off how far ive gone and still have to go.
Mushroomhead-Tattoo is awesome for doing sprints/hills, dig deep!!

Lifting is usually rap or metal. Yoga is either metal, country, laid back Pink Floyd type stuff, depending on what I want from yoga that day.

Till I Collapse - Eminem (Filth Dubstep Remix)
Korn ft. Skrillex - Get up!
Android Porn - Kraddy

Check these out, they're amazing!

I'm in a band called "Friend For A Foe". We are in the "Djent" sub-genre of metal. We keep things nice and aggressive while still having good cleans and big growls.

If you want to listen to it, you can download our album for free

It's good workout music :D
