Wide grip Barbell curls

Hey,

Anyone try doing wide grip barbells curls? As in really wide grip - wider than shoulder width! A guy in my gym reckons best Bi’s workout is (really) wide grip bar bell curls following by close grip preacher curls. Seem to work for him!!

Wider than shoulder width? From trying to reproduce that movement here in my cube (while glancing around to make sure no one is watching), it seems that if you try a grip that is wider than shoulder width you are creating a mechanical disaster; bi's aren't as focused anymore, and you are stressing the wrists and shoulders.

The widest I ever lift with barbell curls is just at shoulder width.. I would say if you want to go wider you should consider dumbbell curls instead.

A good biceps routine always involves hitting them from different angles, and grips. pronated, supinated, neutral...wide, narrow, medium grip...

a heavy back routine also hits the biceps pretty hard. for me, my back routine is 85% of my biceps workout...i just hit em with 2 sets of curls at the end.
