Whoops! Built too much muscle..

..which has made me heavier. I guess with all the free time I have I think I have taken tooo much advantage of it. I get bored so I hit the gym..

Don't get me wrong, I'm not fit, nor am I healthy (which is my initial goal) I've just reached too high for my liking.

This is how it goes..

Since 2 weeks I have been going hardcore at the gym, we have our own personal gym at home, so I thought why not make use of the equipment? Even more, I need to lose weight fast!

I ended up doing 9 miles of elliptical training in 90 minutes plus 40 minutes of toning table. Yoga at the begining to kind of stretch out my muscles. I got amazing results at first, I lost an incredible 6 pounds..last week, THIS week I check on the scale to find that I have gone heavy! Now my body has toned up alot i feel more in control of my body and then to get the bad news. I'm pretty sure I have built alot of muscle, which must be the reason why I have become heavy. So the story is I thought cardio was supposed to burn fat and not make you build too much muscle? toning table is just to tone right so that should not be a problem? (correct me if I am wrong)..It's just that I am really confused, instead of shifting I'm building. I want to lose 2 stones in two months and I know I can do it. Healthily no matter what anybody says.

So can anyone help me here? I'm serious I need some advice. :)

You got to get more specific then. What is your diet like?

muscle is heavier than fat, period (BY VOLUME- before someone jumps in here making some stupid remark) So you can still be losing inches, and gaining weight.

measure yourself, and tell us what your diet is like. Have you calculated your BMR? What's your caloric intake?

IF i am reading this right, you said you have been doing this workout for 2 weeks, if that is the case then i don,t know how you could build much mass in that amount of time. I could understand the weight loss, being right with the cardio and all, where as some could be water, but muscle i am not sure.

I'd hate to say it but go with the mirror as well. Your bodyweight will change up and down constantly: try weighing yourself in the morning versus before bed (for me there is like 2-3 lbs difference). Being a female, you might gain another pound due to your menstration cycle and the body retaining more body. On top of that, your sodium intake (salt) will cause you to retain more or less water so i would not fuss over gaining a few pounds. How does the clothes fit?

Honestly I wouldn't waste your breathe. I think the whole post is a crock. You can't lose 6 lbs in a week, then turn around and have "gone heavy".

The fact they haven't bothered to come back with any info just adds to my suspicions......
