Which number sounds right?

I get different maintenance calorie numbers when I use the calculators on the internet versus the numbers I get from my FitDay program. I'm not sure which one is right and it's a pretty big difference:

Fit day says like 3200 - 3300 cal burned per day

Online calculator says 2831

Which sounds more realistic to you?

My stats:

male
39 yrs
155lb/70kg
5'9'' / 170cm
very active (workout 1-2hrs, 6-7 days a week)

What are you trying to achieve (weight loss? maintenance?) When I ran you through the calculators I use I came up with numbers lower than what you have. I think your best bet is to eat healthy and watch your weight (literally) if you notice you are gaining cut back/losing eat more/maintaining continue to eat like you are.

I just did the calculations on FitDay and Bodybuilding.com and FitDay is 1843 with Bodybuilding.com at 1844.

I'm male, 39, 71 inches--

I think the Phil may be using the combined Basal and Lifestyle calories in FitDay.

I'm adding the activity level to the BMR....

BMR 1,641 x 1.725 (Very Active, Hard exercise, 6-7 days) = 2,831
According to: ()

I just did the calculation on Bodybuilding.com and got: 2633

------------------------------------------------------------
BMR Based On Weight
For Men: 1 x 70 Kg x 24 = 1680

Taking your bodyfat percentage into account, your adjusted BMR is 1596 calories per day. This is equal to 67 calories per hour

Adding in your activity level, we times your BMR by 1.65. This means that your approximate total calories burned each day is 2633
--------------------------------------------------------------

I guess the difference between those two is that the BB.com takes into account the BF%.

So if I'm cutting, I should be eating around 2150 calories per day. Is that right?
