Which is right?

me and my friend got in an arguement. I say that a proper workout is that you do each mucsle group once a week and you workout your whole body every week and take 1-2 days off each week. He says that you concentrate on only two muslce groups every day and do the same exercises everyday for 1 week. :confused: which is a better workout???
 
there is not set routine that everyone follows (therefore no "proper workout"), goals, time, dedication, and access all come into play when choosing a routine. from what i understand, neither is that good of a routine.
 
Sure. What are you goals? Are you new to lifting, been doing it for a while, or been doing it for a long time? Do you eat right? Do you eat enough? All of these questions will make it easy to make a routine.. Just lemme know..
