Where to go from here?

So here is my situation. I am 5'7 and I weigh 135-140 lbs, no clue about bf%. Right now I am not sure what to do. On one hand, I want to cut the rest of the fat on my stomach off for the summer (although it is being pretty stubborn). However, as you can probably see I don't have that much muscle, so I may be sacrificing too much of it if I continue to cut. My best gains have by far been in my legs, and I am pretty happy with them, but I didn't see much in my upper body. Over the winter I did the hypertrophy programs of NROL, and then started the fat loss programs, but I believe I didn't spend enough time gaining muscle and began to cut too fast. After talking to a few people, I may begin to do the strength program of NROL, but they never saw my pics. Any and all advice would be great. I know most of that will be in the form of "put on some mass" but thats fine with me.

(by far the most embarrasing pic is that first one)

What fat on your stomach?!?!

You look great! :)

If I were you, I would definitely focus on gaining muscle rather than losing what little fat you have, which is only about 12 - 13%.

weeeeel aint you a cutie! you type much bigger than you are! hehehehe Yer a favorite of mine bro.

DUDE! EEEEEEEAAAAAAAATTTTT BIG LLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIFFFFFFFTT Heavy and you will look fantastic within 90 days.

Sweat Daily

Alright thats what I thought, I'll do my best to add some muscle. I think after having cut down over the past several weeks my body may be willing to put on some muscle. Anyone have any good programs I can try out? I work better when I have a set program someone else has created, as it forces me to do a certain amount of reps/ only rest for a certain amount of time etc.

FF, I do talk a lot bigger than I am:) but I don't talk out of my realm of knowledge. I lift hard and sweat daily. My strength I believe is not given the respect it deserves by my size, as I can lift more than a lot of the guys that are bigger than me in the gym... but damn do I want that size.

I appreciate the feedback from everyone so far! Keep it coming.

Put the power AMP in your stomach CAMP and become the CHAMP!

Yes, a clearly defined WISE bulk would be a good idea, bro.

Best regards,

Chillen

yeah, definitely bulk up! What program have you been running up until now? Do you want something like a 3 day FBW or something else?

I would probably do a full body program 3-4 days per week, or you could do an upper/lower split.

I have been wanting to try the Westside for skinny bastards program which is an upper/lower split. Really very basic and you can pick which exercises you want to do from a list of each type of movement.

Definitely just focus on building muscle body-wide.

Karky- I just finished NROL Fat Loss II, but ive been doing the general NROL program for about 5 months or so. Right now I'm thinking of possibly doing a split of chest/tri's, back/bi's, and lower body. I understand I would be giving too much attention to my upper body and too little to my lower, but my thinking is that I want to add much more mass right now to my upper body than to my lower. So in the short run maybe 3-4 weeks or so do this, and then switch to an upper lower split. Any thoughts?

RWS-I'll check that out

Chillen- thanks for the encouragement

Speaking of the NROL Fat Loss programs how effective are they? I always thought you had to lift heavy during fat loss. I know personally that the strength programs are ridiculously effective (thus far anyway)

Well I'm not sure how effective it was by itself, but it got me from barely fitting in my pants to needing a belt for them (i.e. my body in those pics). But that was in combination with me on the anabolic diet, as well as doing HIIT 3 times a week and ss cardio 2-3 times a week as well. The idea behind his fat loss program is to create a HIIT like workout with his supersets using high reps because that burns the most calories. But yeah, combined with everything I did it worked pretty well. They are very short but very intense workouts.

you've got a great base man....i would just hit the fridge and eat like 10 meals a day for a year straight. go up to like 180-190 then worry about a cut.

but summer is summer hahah just do it after....

high cals / more weights?
