I never thought I'd be writing a post in a forum that deals with life issues. Life issues I say as I have realized I'm killing myself with my obesity.
Up until 9 years ago I was in excellent health, rode mountain bikes , backpacked , canoed and played rauquet ball. I worked my job effeciently and with no body laboring moments. I work construction as a carpenter.
I moved to Fl. and started a different lifestyle. More layed back , no outdoor activities other than going to the beach and of course work. Stared to gain weight and ignored it. How foolish I was .
A few years ago I moved back to Ohio and back to my old haunts. The trails and the hills were here along with all my outdoor and physical sports atmospheres. Thennnnnnnn , I realized I'm way out of shape and can't participate.
I let it slide until now. Now I weigh 394 pounds on a 6'3'' frame. I carry 240 pounds well but this weight is killing me. I'm out of breath when slightly exerted, developed a heart condition and high blood pressure. The doctor has cleared me to exercise and to diet to get back in shape. I'm ready and more than willing to get started.
Started ??? that's my problem. WHERE DO I START ????????
Do I start a diet and then after loosing start exercising ?
or Do I start it all at once , the dieting and exercising ???
What exercises can I do for the most good ?
What diet is good to use. Adkins diet is out but any other I'm open to.
I've seen all your stats and tetimonies of before and after on here and that gave me inspiration as well. I congratulate each and everyone of you with your achievments. I only hope to join you with an equal testimony.
My goal is to loose 170 pounds. I joined your forum hoping that all of you can help me pull it off. That might sound selfish but believe me , I'm desperate .
