feeding 3 kids = anything on sale. LOL

We have totally switched over to whole grain pastas, natty PB, whole grain bread, etc.

I'm kinda pissy lately tho I can't get decent blueberries at any store. Guess I'll wait until they are back in season. Been getting some really good oranges lately tho.

My consistent weekly purchases are as follows:

-Fresh onions, peppers and other veggies.
-1/2 dozen apples
-1 bunch of bananas
-1 package of blueberries
-1 box of Kashii granola bars
-1 box Kashii cereal
-1 bag of coffee
-1 half gallon of fat-free milk
-6 or 7 single serve yogurts (chobani)
-1 package of 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
-1 package of either steak, stew beef or stir fry beef
-1 or 2 salmon steaks
-1 package beef jerky

My bi-weekly, or monthly purchases are:
-1 dozen eggs
-1 loaf whole wheat bread
-1 container of cottage cheese
-1/2 gallon OJ
-1 package of Sargento cheese sticks
-Natural PB
-Low-sugar jelly
-1 4 pack of tuna in water
- Olive oil and EVOO
-Whole wheat pasta

My supermarket bill each week can vary from anywhere between 50 USD and 120 USD...dependent on buying things like papertowels, laundry detergent and bathroom products.

Typically, a normal weekly food expenditure is 75 USD to 90 USD.

On the whole grain pastas, have any of you tried the whole grain and whole grain pasta with flax from Trader Joe's? It's much more palatable than some other brands....my kids will actually eat it. Some of the other stuff tastes and feels like cardboard.

Wow!! You'd probably save money raising your own cattle and chickens.

The bill isn't actually that bad.

I always read the circulars to see what's on sale before I go. Sometimes I end up going to 2-3 different stores to get the sales.

that's what I do too. Red meat is hard to get cheap around here.. I can always get chicken for a decent price, but red meat is expencive. Red meat on sale = me cleaning out the entire store.

I'm getting chicken for 1.49 us dollars a lb if I buy 10lbs or more. Thats the boneless / skinless

NY strip steaks at 2.69 lb if I buy 15lbs or more. Ground sirloin 2.49 lb at 5lbs or more. We have a nice little meat market buy us and you can wheel and deal with them in there. Good people too.

Damn dude you make out better than I do.

Those are some good deals!

I generally end up making 1-2 small trips a week it seems. I'm living back at home for the time being so it helps being able to eat the food my dad buys, but not all of it is ideal...

This is what I picked up at the store today:

2 gal. Whole milk
1 tube Crescent Reduced Fat Cinnamon Rolls (They're really not all that bad according to the label. We'll see taste wise in a couple days...)
1 Bag Barbeque Popped chips
1 bunch bananas
4 apples
1 small pkg. blueberries
1 bag baby carrots
3 lemons
1 bottle of salad dressing
3 Kind Fruit & Nut bars
2 lb. chicken breasts
1.5 lb New York strip steak
1 bag Whole Wheat pasta

I'll probably end up picking something else up this week
