what's wrong??

aight I started doing a new Ab routine....15 lb weight behind my head, 3 sets of 15, then 10 lb weight doing 3 x 10 of russian twists....Last week I had no problem doing it, and it felt great after each set, really good burn...however, this week my abs feel really different...i feel like im working em, but it's almost like im hurting them more, i don't feel the same burn I had a week ago, and it was a little harder for me to do this week so far....any ideas? I appreciate any help....thanks
 
An idea:

You may have over-trained (done a lot too soon)... give your abs a lot of rest (at least a week, maybe two), then start-up again, but build up to where you were that one day -- at a slower pace this time around.
 
yea i guess that makes sense, i can't see what else it could be unless my muscles are just deteriorating lol...its just it didnt feel like i hurt them last week, it felt good like i worked em well, maybe i did though
 
That's the problem with over-training: you don't always know when you're in the process of over-doing things because the effects of soreness & tightness aren't immediate enough for timely feed-back. A lot of things look good on paper but don't exactly work as planned when applied.

Some martial-arts injuries are that way too; for instance folks are told to tap-out when they feel that they're in trouble; but the trouble is that often one is injured some (or a lot) before one realizes any trouble & responds appropriately with tapping.
 
yea i mean i guess thats the only reason i have as of now as to why my abs feel a lot weaker so i guess i gotta take the chance of resting them for a week or so even if it means i dont get an ab workout for a while
