What will I look like?

Will people recognize me?

This is something I have been thinking about lately. I see so many before and after pictures and the transformations made are almost mindboggling. People losing 50+ pounds look like a completely different person!

I wonder what I am going to look like... I wonder if people will recognize me when I reach my goal weight (lose 60 pounds).

Is there anyone who has been there or anyone who wonders this same thing?!

:bigear:

People who see you all the time, probably won't notice much of a difference because the changes will be gradual.. People who don't see you frequently might or might not recognize you

What difference does it make?

Yeah, really. People who see me all the time notice a difference but it doesn't really sink in for them until I show them my before pic, which is a group photo of my department at work on our intranet site. The reaction is always the same: "Holy shit!"

My family has commented that I'm looking "a lot thinner" but I don't get that jaw-dropping reaction from them; they see me too frequently.

After I'd lost 60 lbs I sent a photo of myself to friends in the UK who hadn't seen me since my peak and they were blown away.

It's a good feeling, but I don't require it. :hat:

Haha, it doesn't make a difference. That's not why I was asking. I am simply curious if people have been in that situation.

I can see how people that see you often wouldn't really recognize it too much. People that you haven't seen in a couple years probably wouldn't even know who you were until you said something. I think it's a surreal phenomenon and interesting to me.

You know it's funny that you ask that...cause I have thought about it before....

...and at one point,...though I do feel like I want to completely change myself, I wonder if I will like the new me, considering I've always been chubby and everyone who knows me has known me this way too....and when I did lose the most weight in my life....people would tell me to stop...and I still wasn't near goal! ...in a sense...it's kinda a little fear of mine....though it's what I want....weird huh!!?!?.....change is scarry sometimes...LOL!!!

...my chub has always guarded me from the world...now I'll use my GUNS to guard me I guess...:reddevil:

x2... I was thinking the same... why does it matter what people think of you?

lol, once again, it doesn't matter.

Alta, change is scary sometimes. But at the same time it's so AWESOME!! I'm way excited to not be recognized. ;)

I want to find out!!

Yes, I do want to find out how I will look. I have prowled around today and looked at a lot of pictures of others success.

What I notice most is their expression in the after photos. They look accomplished and pleased. They also look soooo much younger!

I am hoping to reap the rewards of a healthy lifestyle. And the age loss would not hurt me at all!!

We will see...............:seeya:

cant wait

I always think about what I will look like...I think thats another thing that can keep you motivated, knowing that your going to become a new person (mentally and physically) and feel great while doing it. When people dont recongnize me after I lose all this weight, shoot, Im going to be thrilled. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! lol

I think if you change your hairstyle, different make up, different style of clothes PLUS weight loss...
People wouldn't recognize you anymore... o_O"

Though I have some spots on my face...

After I lose all of my weight (hopefully), I'll probably still look like me. Only, I won't look I've eaten 4 other me's.

Actually, no...I'll probably look like Zeus. Yeeeeah, I want to look like Zeus. I want rock hard abs, perfectly toned muscles and a sweet old man beard. Yeeeeeah, I want that. Does Zeus have a big...you know? I want that too.

As per my signature file, I've lost 60 lbs within 12 months. Wanted 9 month target but hit 4 x major plateaus along the way. From my first hand experience, I'm the same inner person. Same thoughts, same ideas and same professional drive. I can tell you:

- Being skinnier (normal shape body today), my boss no longer thinks I'm a lazy tail person. She tells me how much harder I work and how my quality has improved as well. Statistically, I do the same work and same quality - got the stats comparison to prove it. But, she thinks I'm now a better worker. Goes to show that "normal body shape" people get higher yearly review ratings and more professional promotions in life.

- I work at home - in my basement office. And, only see my coworkers 2 times per year. For some, I don't see for 1 year at a time. When I seen them last, each of them did a "double take". A simple glance over, then turn back for an immediate detailed look. For some, they walked by me, immediately stopped, turned around and said, "is that really you? - WOW!". Being 60 lbs lighter with added 15-20 lbs of "extra" muscle does make a huge difference on one's looks. Big visual change. Especially going from XXL shirt down to "M" shirt size.

- On the general public streets, I noticed that I'm treated differently as well. One of my buddies asked if I wanted to join his baseball team this spring. Another person asked if I wanted to join his hockey team last fall. Being 60 lbs heavier, any openings within their team were never shared. Today, they look at me, look a my new "slimmer yet toned" body shape and they offer me positions. I never realized how much others judge "fatter" people from their body size. Sad to say but true...

- My wife says my body is like "20 years younger" as well. My previous large belly doesn't get in the way anymore. She also says my performance lasts much longer as well. And at times, she cannot keep her hands off me. Which is a 180 degree change - compared to when my body was 242 lbs (re: 60 lbs heavier). For the guys: Results will vary from person to person... But being slimmer and "muscle tone" body shape does make a huge difference in the romance area as well...

These are the things I noticed about my before and after. Results will vary.

.

Wow, thanks for sharing. It's amazing how people are going to treat you so differently when you're technically the "same" person.

I love your disclaimer btw, lmao, "results will vary".
