What to do?

I understand this is a newbie question, i apologize but can someone please help me clarify, how do i get small lean muscles? i don't want to look big.

how many repetitions/sets? heavy or light weights?

is it true if i do heavy lifting with low repetitions that i get big muscles?

or is it better to get more repetitions with lighter weights?

thank you very much

heavy weights, low reps build strenght and not much size. To build size the general recommendation is between 8-12 reps about 3-4 sets. More reps, like above 12, will mostly build endurance and not much strenght and not much size.

Dont worry about getting too big, it wont happen over night, if you want nice lean looking muscles, just train to get them big and stop before they get too big, something that maybe could happen after 10 years if your lucky. The point is, getting too big is hard. Being afraid of getting too big is like not wanting to train to run for the olympics because your afraid to win, you wont win if you dont want to, and you wont get too big if you dont want to.

tyvm for the straight answer, you are right.

guess i am doing too much thinking and worrying about things i shouldn't.

i already screwed up my diet plan and i'm now re-adjusting.

i appreciate the response.

anyways, this looks like a good place to learn a lot in regards to fitness. i can't believe it took me this long to find out. i usually browse for information and get mixed answers most of the time.

thanks again. :beerchug:
