what should I be taking

back to your original question...i would just stick to the basics: protein and creatine (if it works for you). but it still comes down to intense workouts and a good diet. without the diet and the workouts (AND rest!!!), protein and creatine will do jack squat...

thanks again

Im glad you brought up the subject on creatine. I am in desperate need of the best quality creatine at a faily low price. can anybody give me some 411 or a good website on where I can get it.

should I get in a gym or is bowflex OK

hey yall okay does anybody out there have any of the bowflex models? I use the ultimate. I was wondering is this going to be a good tool for me to gain mass. Im a skinny guy and don't have any friends that would work out with me in a gym, so I feel I would be slightly intimidated if I would go to a gym. but my main question is will the bowflex work.

can't comment on the bowflex...never seen one in real life, let alone used one.
but on creatine...just go with any micronized creatine. I use either EAS brand or GNC brand. i've heard a few comments about Swole, but as far as I can tell, its creatine, sugar, and flavoring (a.k.a. Cell-tech)...blah. keep it simple...that's my motto.

yeah...i cant really speak from exerience on creatine, because it never worked for me, but i wouldnt fall for the fancy stuff. i would be sure to go with a trusted brand however (like gnc). i know some places online will sell it to you for ridiculously low prices...and i know for a fact that some of it is crap. ideally, you want to get a brand thats USP...they cant really screw you then. but with some of the legal loopholes, it could say creatine and be flour...all im saying is that if you find it for a low price, great, but be skeptical...

when you buy creatine, look for the name creapure on the label. alot of cheap creatine has a bunch of other crap in it besides the creatine. creapure is pure.

I just ordered a big bottle (42 servings) of EAS Phosaphagen HP (creatine) for only 15 bucks at netrition.com. EAS is a very good brand from my experience.

I'd drop those supps and just take creatine. Most other supplements aren't worth the money. Using a protein supplement post workout is convenient but not necessary if you can get the protein from real food.

thanks for the info. I have been spending alot of money on creatine products
I figured I would save an argument or two with my fiance by buying a cheaper creatine supplement. good looking out on the person that recomended the EAS phosphagen HP. After I finish the creatine that I have now I will give that one a shot.

Let me repeat... Food, Food, Food...

I have a desk job and it's a pain, but with some planning you can get your meals in. (Even though you may get the occassional stare from someone)

Laytownking... I reread your post and realized I didn't really answer your question... Without really knowing your bf% and what not, I'd suggest about 150g-190g of protien/day and around 350g-400g of carbs/day (and that's probably on the low side) if you're looking at a target weight of 180-190lbs. I'd try to get this in 5-6 meals, so you may have to slowly work yourself up to eating every 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Keep in mind that if you're planning on bulking that you're going to be putting some fat on as well, but that's why we have cutting cycles.

hey since my target weight is 180 and you said I would be putting on fat
is that going to make it hard for me to maintain a 180lb frame durring my cutting cycle? or do you think I should make my target rate higher and cut down to 180

where exactly would you find creapure on the lable. I have searched the internet everywhere and can't find a product that list creapure as an ingrediant.

its gonna be on the label itself. check out this link

you have to look hard but on the bottom right underneath the MENT in supplement you'll see a little label. it'll be something like that.
