What motivates you???

A question I have been asking myself, and I can't really answer it, which is what I think has caused my lack of motivation.

I'm currently 20, about 5'11" and 87kg. Single for 8months now and in my third year or University.

I have been overweight/ obese all my life and never had any real weight loss efforts until last year where I lost 30kg... regained 2 since then. This weight loss was done predominantly over a 3 month period where I lost 20kg, the one time in my life where I had real motivation and actually did something about my weight.

Uni got a bit much last semester and so the diet and exercise went out the door, but I am back at the gym again and loving it... well enjoying the fact that I know i'm being good, but the diet is still a bit iffy.

So motivation... well I can't really remember what it was, but I want it back. I personally have a few weak motivators and would like to strengthen them.

So firstly, i'm doing it for my future health, this is the ultimate less see-able goal, the more short term realisable goals for me are:
-I want to be able to take my shirt off when summer comes around and be confident
-I want to feel attractive/ get a girlfriend
-Fitness to make everyday life easier
-Weightloss/ fitness to help with my sport (motorcycle racing)
-I want to feel normal

The problem I feel I have is that I have no real strong connection/desire/commitment to any of my motivators and so when the going gets tough I just give up. I also understand that I will never be completely happy with the way I look...no one is...

At the moment I am just going to the gym because it makes me happy and I'm hoping the motivation can be dragged along by that.

Enough about me, what motivates you? What has worked, what hasn't worked any helpful advise?

Oh and a quote I have found very helpful in life "The best way to predict the future is to invent it" Alan Kay
