Do you tend to choose higher or lower calorie meals? I usually eat taco bell as a cheat meal which I allow myself once per week. I have done some serious damage there.
 
I think it also depends on how many calories are carb/protein/fat and whether the fat is trans/sat/unsat.

That said, I stopped eating greasy fast food years ago and all of those meals sound disgusting to me. : p

the only meal on there that sounds remotely appealing is the cheeze calzone from sbarros... but even then - i don't like their pizzza that much so i probably wouldn't eat close to the entire thing.

Some of the numbers are suprising...


Ifind it really sad that "Double Whopper with Cheese and a Medium Chocolate Shake; " is more than an entire day's worth of calories... yikes.. i'm glad i don't like fast food... Icould make my own burger... have it my way... and still come in at fewer calories.. :D
 
I wouldn't eat any of them! I would head for a grocer and buy some fruit, or buy a chicken in wholemeal bread sandwich. Ok, I do sometimes buy a Subway.
 
You, guys, are a bunch of sabatojures and provocatures!:p :D I would kill for a big fat burger right now. But no! I am trying to be strong and be good with my diet. Instead of eating a burger I choose to come here for inspiration and what do I get? Nice fat post about burgers!:D
 
I seem to go for the B's which seem to be the highest calories....eep....kind of glad I hardly ever eat at fast food places anymore.

No reason why you still can't have one... make it at home... :D or plan your calories for the day around it.... Life style choices aren't about depriving yourself... deprivation causes binges.. as long as you don't have one of those meals every day, Id on't think you do much damage :D
 
I stopped going to fast food places a while back. Instead of stopping at McDy's like i would before i started taking care of myself I stop at Wegman (best grocery store ever) and pick up a salad or something from there buffet its not as fast but just as filling. :=)

Mal:) , you know what it is, I am all or nothing kind of person. I do understand in my mind that I can eat something like burger once in a blue moon, however, I also know that I will blame myself for not having any will power after I will be done with it and it is usually very painful feeling for me. I know I have an eating disorder and it is an every day challange for me to stay sane and make right choices. I never had a habbit of eating fast food, happened so that I never developed taste for it (thankfuly), but I do like fat, nice big burgers with bacon and tomatoes. The last time I had it was last summer in TGI Fridays.:)

A cheat meal once per week will not harm your progress. Actually it can help kickstart your metabolism again due to it somewhat slowing from the constant intake of the same calories every day.

I've been in the industry many years and know it 100%. All of the people I prescribe customized programs to have a cheat meal once per week. Your thyroid can become somewhat dormant by taking in the same calories day in and day out and a cheat meal will give it a kickstart to working in high gear again.

If you are VERY new to diet/fitness, I wouldn't suggest a cheat meal until about a month of serious dieting/training.

I would have picked the KFC orignal with mash potatoes plain
only because I researched all this when I started my diet incase
I had to eat somewhere like that and I hate beef so burgers is
a easy NO nO for me.Tammy

Thanxs Mal that helped a lot and it makes sense, i guess now i am looking forward to eating a big plate of spagetti on sunday with a chunk of garlic bread:D :D :D :D :D :D I eat 5 small meals a day and have one or two 50-100 cal snacks totaling around 1200 to 1400 a day is this enuff to satisfy a cheat day schedule, I'v been doing this for about 3 months now sooooo????? give me the lowdown dudes............ STAR

Wow the Double Whopper with Cheese is almost 1100 calories by itself :ack2:



You just have that and be done for the day... at least it gives you plenty of iron heh.
