What do you eat before a workout in the morning?

Besides the supplements, how do you have the energy to go to the gym in the morning? This next month I'm planning on moving my workouts to the mornings because there are always things going on during the evenings.

I'm guessing cream of wheat and maybe oatmeal are the way to go. Any other suggestions?

I always eat egg whites and porridge in the morning.
You may want to have a bananna aswell to keep your energy levels up.
Drink lots of water in the morning aswell. Also maybe a protein shake.

Complex carbs.

Hydration.

An argument with the wife.

Personally I couldn't even dream of lifting in the morning.

You'll probably find you have a lot more energy in the morning.
If you have had a good nights rest, a healthy breakfast and time to allow your body to wake up then you'll probably see a difference.

If I was going to lift in the morning (say 7am) I'd have to get up around 3am have a huge breakfast of bacon and eggs with bread.
Go for a walk.
Then have oatmeal and a protein shake around 6am.
dextrose shake at 6.30am

I still wouldnt have enough energy.

Haha, that made me laugh, but it is so true - agreed 100% and I could never get the energy to work out in the morning either. Blegh.

I get up at about 9 am, have a bowl of steel cut oats, a 20 oz of water, then hit the gym at about 11-12. Works for me so far...

Then a shake with milk, a banana, 45 g protein, and a third cup of oats after lifting...

I go to the gym first thing every morning. It took a while to get used to it, but now it is a habit and it works pretty well. Before, I usually drink 16-32 ounces of water and recently have started drinking a protien shake made with 2 raw eggs, 12 ounces of skim milk and a scoop of whey protien. I think it is more important what you eat afterwards. I do another 16-32 ounces of water, half a grapefruit or some mellon, oatmeal and a banana, and another protien shake with 16 ounces of skim milk and a scoop of whey protien.
