Load bearing exercise with a weight you can do 10 or more reps with correct form will NOT stunt your growth. If anything it will facilitate growth by developing your lung capacity, circulatory system, etc. to better support your body as it develops. The only possible way to cause a problem would be to injure yourself by using bad form or trying to lift maximal weights for very low reps.

Sets of 10-15 repetitions should be safe and adequate to stimulate muscle growth for at least 6 months to 2 years. Instead of adding more reps above 15, gradually increase the weight, as long as you can still perform 10+ reps with good form.

1. I hope you mean 3 sets, of 10 reps, not 10 sets of 3...especially with little 15lb dumbbells.
2. you're 16, you're probably about done growing. as long as you don't spend much time right now on one-rep max lifting, you'll avoid any potential damage to bone growth plates.

thanks this really helped alot

flys

id say if you have a bench you can do DB presses, flys is isolation and wont make you that much bigger.

Look into getting one. They're not expensive. Sounds like usual advice you're receiving from people who generally know nothing about the subject. Its funny how kids are encouraged to play sports and parents see nothing wrong with extreme running, but when it comes to picking up weights, thats a no no.

noone has yet to tell me

toning doesn't come from lifting alone. you lift to make the muscles larger.
you diet to shed bodyfat, to make them show up.

example: these are photos of lee priest, a pro bodybuilder.

pretty much the same amount of muscle mass, but in competition, he diets like a mad-man to show off all that muscle.

check garage sales for used benches..you can save big money on people's old, un-used equipment.

thanks alot this relly helped thank u but i have another question ok i dont get that whole diet thing what should i stay away from and what should i be eating
