Took me a while to get into it, but now very much enjoy the CD.

Great band. If you like Drive by truckers, Magnolia electric company, Love as Laughter, J Macsis (dinosaur jr. lead), even some neil young/buffalo springfield ish stuff. Give them a shot, i recommend this and their first album to newbies.

oh man beautiful composer....ahh what can i say..oh course! he Russian...and us Russians sure got talent...lol!

Hee hee yeah when you get a great interpretation of a Tchaikovsky piece, it rarely fails to move ya. There's another Russian composer/work that I love a lot - but will save it for the next time I put the CD on to post it. If you like Tchaikovsky, see my diary - I have a link to my msn space that has the first movement playable on Windows Media Player (broadband only unfortunately, as the file itself is huge).

Theleip - gonna check 'em out on Rhapsody and get an earful.

Bobby Darin- Beyond the Sea (7 pm)

Tan Dun- Spirit Fight (7:05 pm)

Nice - I haven't heard much of Tan Dun's work apart from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.... And cool link - you apparently like Ennio Morricone - I think he did the soundtrack to the Mission - what a great piece of music that is....

I don't have any of Tan Dun's stuff from CTHD, but I do have his soundtrack from Hero, which I thuroghly enjoy. Yeah, Ennio Morricone is the MAN. He did many of the spaghetti westerns: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, A Fistfull of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, etc. I got into him after watching Kill Bill, which used many of his tracks.

Roger Wallace - Hillbilly Heights

Gave this a spin again last night - great stuff... A retro step to an older style of country music, with swing.
