What about taking protein during a workout?

Would it make any sense to drink your protein during a workout???...When I go to the gym I take a thing of water with me...what if I were too add the protein powder to it and drink it during my workout??? Would it do anything different? Would it be worth it?
 
I don't think that will be benefical. You should eat enough carbs before you workout for your energy and drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Maybe someone has more technical reasoning.

Yeah i believe food (liquid food in this case) consumption during a workout is a bad idea. I use to powerlift with my uncle when i was a teenage and if i had anything to eat within a hour of deadlifts or squats i would feel like puking the whole time. Safe to say i never done it very many times lol
 
Some recommend taking it during your workout if you are wokring for a fairly long time, supposed to keep it available for the muscles you worked first, they say about 20 minutes in to take about half a dose so there is some in your system.

I personally stick with water and maybe some glutamine during though.
 
right, some ppl do recommend pre, during and post workout nutrition. personally i dont see the need for it and probably couldnt stomach it either. :(
