Weights for fat loss

I guess you would have to say all weight bearing exercises (WBE) are good for fat loss. WBE raises your metabolism and if you add lean muscle you will increase your BMR allowing you to burn fat more quickly.

I myself would not consider recommending to anyone a weight loss program that was not a total fitness program. 1- get your diet in order. 2 - perform 30min to 1hr of aerobic workout each day. 3 - perform a full body strength training regime three time a week with at least one day of rest between each session.

Agreed. Weight training does not magically turn fat into muscle.
