Weight

Hello! So I am a competitive athlete in a fairly weight dependent sport... Im currently 5'3 and 117 lbs in a size 1 pant. I would like to drop to 110lbs but am having a hard time because I already have a low body fat percentage. Any help?

If you're at the point where your low bodyfat percentage is making it hard to lose any more fat, I'd dare say that you probably shouldn't try, because generally once your bodyfat is that low, losing more of it decreases performance. Personally, while I don't know exactly what sport you're in and how bodyweight affects it, if it's a weight class sport I'd be more inclined to move up into the next weight class than to hold onto the current weight class and be in crappy shape for competing.

Anyway, if you must lose weight and a simple low-calorie diet isn't sufficing, I'd try carb-cycling, having some high-carb, moderate-carb and low-carb days throughout the week, scheduling the carb-loading based on training.

I have to agree with Goldfish as well. If you are already at a low body fat percentage you are just going to do more harm than good trying to loose more weight. When I was in high school, I was on the wrestling team in the 103 weight class at 5'3". I found it very difficult to get lower than 104, but when I get down to the right weight I very quickly got sick because I was not suppose to be that small. Your body will tell when it is unhealthy and refusing to go below a certain weight is one of the ways it will do that.
