Weight training minor shoulder pain

Hope this is the correct portion of the forum. I have some minor shoulder pain in the left shoulder (right is fine), being 46 I expect some joint and tendon pain (actually it has been reletively minor considering my "balls to the wall" attitude). I currently take some flax seed (which is aides in some lubrication, among the fast other benefits of it). If theres an in balance, I cant find it, I have examined rest days, form in the weight room. When doing chest its fine, its mainly when I do military press (ala, shoulders). I warm up good, and strangely, when I do, 85% of it goes away. So go figure. But, when I cool down, it comes back with a vengeance. Maybe rest on MP's for a while? I currently do them about 6 days apart (this rest period seemed to agree with me, and strength gaines have been good: 160X1, 165X1, 170X1 or three sets, 5 to 8 rep range, the last workout). Any suggestions!

hmm, so overhead pressing hurts. Im no expert, but could it be an impingement? Probobly need more info to establish if it is..

Moving my arm forward (like lifting my arm up and forward, I can feel it moving and hurts a little), rotating my arm--you know like circle to align the joints like doctors will tell ya to do, dont hurt, raising my arm laterally or in front does cause minor pain its not major, but its irretating. You may be right, an impingement (or pinch on the tendon or nerve). it doesnt seem to sap my strength. Considering how MUCH the shoulders take a beating in just about all exercises we lifters do. Thanks for the insight. I have to be careful, because, I dont pity myself and know the body can do more than OUR MIND will THINK it can. So, I may have to SLAP myself and give a few days more of rest on mp's. LOL-that is gonna be hard, my friend.

impingements can be nasty stuff. I would get it looked at so you can determine for sure if it is it or not. And if it is, you can take the propper steps to avoid the worst outcome, which is surgery..

I have had this before (last year when I first started training). Its always the left shoulder the right is great. It went away, but I had to allow 4 weeks of no military presses to allow time to heal, but tis back again. Maybe I have to do the same. This time, I will have it looked at and made an appointment. Today is chest day and cardio #32 for May, and it usually dont bother me on chest day---which I dont really understand completely, other than the front shoulders get a hit when doing chest more, and the MP is more upright (and that is probably the difference (an angle difference,I guess). Thanks for responding and your input, its was and is appreciated.

The military press is more upright. If its an impignation lifting the arms overhead will usually hurt more than lifting them horizontally.
Just google "shoulder impingement" and look at pictures, you'll understand why.

If you have had it before and its come back, i would definitly get it checked. Just waiting for it to heal like you did last time will probobly just be another temporary solution, the pain will come back later and eventually, the tendons might be so damaged that you will need surgery.
