Weight Reps

I was doing weight lifting in my pe class and our teacher makes us do pyramid training. Where you do 10 reps of 70 percent of your max cap. then 5 reps of 80 percent of your max cap. then 3 reps of 90 percent of your maximum weight cap and then 2 rep of your 100 percent. The rep numbers are around that.
My question is, is this more effective? ;)
 
sorry. what i mean to ask was whats the difference between the pyramid weight lifting or just doing the same amount of weight for 10-15 reps in sets of 3?

I am mainly lifting weights to get stronger and bulk up in mass.
 
Pyramiding compared to your 3x10 is more effective at building strength.

It's pretty much like building to a max effort lift. With your 3x10 (and especially when you get to 15), you're not building much strength at all.
 
Resistance Training

You should look at it as apyramid but start with a light set followed by 2 heavy and finish of with a lighter drop set.
