Weight Lost

Hi guys,
I have a question if someone can answer it for me please. I am a male 5'3, 142lbs and my main goal is to lose weight and get in some tone. I started going to gym like 3 weeks ago. I run for like 40 minutes and burn around 400 cal. ALso i have started weight training 2 weeks ago. I want to know if this routine which i am following a good one or not.

Monday : Chest
Tuesday : Shoulders
Wednesday : Rest
Thursday : Biceps/Triceps
Friday : Back
Saturday : Legs
Sunday : Rest

ur working ur triceps 3 days in a week! i think that a push/pull/lower would work better.

tue-run
wed-pull
thur-run
fri-lower
sat-rest
sun-run

just a suggestion :)
 
For the sunday run, make it a long one (60-90 minutes). Ppl will deny this but it helps increase your aerobic capacity a lot and helps boost your metabolism for several hours.
 
got ya. what do u mean push/pull/lower hahaha sorry but i m a newbie haha. and also i cant run for 60-90 hahah. i push myself to 40 and cant do more hahah. what do u suggest??
 
lol...well 60-90 is really a steady state, slow pace run. If you do 40 minutes at say....a 9 minute mile pace, the 60-90 should be at an 11-12 minute mile pace. If the 60-90 is hard, do 60-90 of something else...bball, walking, etc....just keep the heart rate up.
 
I see no reason to do cardio for more than 45 minutes. If you're training for a marathon, do the 60-90minute run. If you're not training for a marathon, skip it.

I do agree with a push/pull/leg split. I have 4 days of weight training, because I go over my lunch hour and just can't get in a decent push or pull workout in the 35 minutes I have of actual gym use. If you can actually spend 45-60 mins in the gym, try push/pull/leg split (push= chest, triceps, shoulders, pull=biceps and back).
 
i see got ya. so should i do push/pull/ leg split on seperate days??

what does leg split means does it means legs exercise.

hmm.... how can it be needless?? and what do u consider strong cardio workout in 45 minutes. i still do 40 minutes at 5.5 speed?? what do u think??
