OK guys..you are showing your age...Matlock and Murder she wrote...both are OK, but neither my favorite!

Good job on the exercise feelinggooder! I ran track back in highschool...a loooong time ago! :coolgleama:

Making progress on the weekly exercise goals but there's still a lot left to do before I hit the goals. Punched a solid day on Sunday's exercise but yesterday was light exercise except for the walking which isn't even part of my self imposed challenge.

Need to get this one done and move on to some other forms of exercise next week.

your goals sound pretty challenging to me- good job. burpees oooh and all those push-ups! Burpees are new to me and mountain climbers, those are pretty challenging to keep up... I feel myself working some new muscles with those.

Thanks for posting in my journal by the way, helping me keep my head up

Hope the Matlock reference doesn't cause you nightmares imaninja =) Maybe it was all those loaded up hotdogs he used to eat?

Think I agree with you Rainy that the numbers for the weekly challenge might still be a little high. Either way this will be my last week attempting this set since it's pretty draining on the arms and legs. Mountain climbers are a good evil idea, think they will be going into next week's mix along with a few new exercises.

Rough Numbers so far Sun-Tues

160/300 lunges, 275/500 pushups, 95/250 burpees, 15k/50k weight lifted, 0/40 minutes treadmill

Hoping to see some spring weather sooner rather than later.

Hey feelinggooder. You do have some high goals...when you explained what a burpee is...oh God...I remember them as "squat thrusts"...and they were never easy for me (anything that requires alot of upper body strength is usually a challenge!).

Go 80's!

Hey Sarah,

I can recall various people yelling the term "squat thrusts" at me as well. Maybe the term burpee is the result of a kinder gentler world trying to put a positive spin on such a brutal exercise. I'm still in a good position to hit my lunges and pushup goals (hopefully tonight) which will leave the burpees and 30k of weight over the next three days. Should end up close to making the overall goals this week.

For some reason these little self imposed challenges really seem to help with the focus.

Sup evil twin?

Cold up there today?

Get any exercise in?

By the way what was your low point last time you lost weight? Seems like you said 235.

Keeping busy up this way. These self imposed weekly challenges are starting to take their toll so took it easy last night.

Weather here is still letting us all know that winter isn't quite done with us. Had snow yesterday and last night but spring should be around the corner which will be a welcome change. I'm still getting about 15 miles of walking done each week as part of the commute to and from work and the evening exercise a few times a week as well.

Lowest weigh in last time (checks spreadsheet of shame) was on 27 July 2009 - 233.2lbs. Kind of bounced around that point for a couple months and then I stopped tracking. I should be within 15 lbs of that mark by Sunday's weigh in barring any serious f-ups in the next two days...

Hope everyone has a great relaxing weekend and manages to get outside and enjoy some fresh air.

Hey feelinggooder..(Love the name, btw)

You sound like you live next door! Our weather has been doing the same thing. Snow one day..60 the next..then snow again...then 20 high's...back to 60. It's driving me nuts! I love to walk outside and I don't know if I should budle up or throw on a t-shirt . NOOOOO...F-ups! Stay true and strong and show that bastard scale who's boss! Best of luck dear~

Hi FeelingGooder you are just right to take a bit of rest you are doing so so well you inspire me! Tho i have a long long way to go!

AIt's good to know when to ease up a bit feelinggooder. In the past 6 months I had small injuries that set me back a couple of weeks.

I can't wait for spring to get here as well, it's been pouring cats and dogs here for the last week, and I am sick of it. I'm just lucky that I do my training at the gym, so I have no excuses not go.

Hey Feelinggooder,

Take a break man...you need it to recharge your batteries...so you can do more squat thrusts/burpees next week! (I think they would be pukeees for me btw!). Drink lots of water (as she takes a swig off the water bottle by her recliner!) and have a great weekend!

Thanks everyone for dropping by and the encouragement. Will catch up on all your progress before Monday but wanted to pop on to update my progress on my hellish weekly goals.

Lunges - Done

Pushups - Done

50k Weight - Done

Burpees (grrrrrr... still need 75 by end of day)

Treadmill - 21:20, 2 miles done... about 20 minutes to go...

Off to squat thrust a few more times and then catch a breather...

------------------------- Hours later--------------------------

With a bit less than 6 hours to deadline... all done... w00t w00t.

Now off to enjoy a relaxing 6 hours before I have to come up with another set of goals for next week.

Managed to get the remainder of the burpees done and punched another 2 miles on the treadmill in 21:05. Up to run 4 walk 1 now....

Decided to pick up a big reward for hitting the 250 mark after work on Friday. Have now added a exercise bike to my basement that is quickly being converted into a home gym. Next weeks goal will probably include a few miles on the new toy...

awesome job hitting those goals. pretty soon with all that weight lifting you been doing you will be able to lift a truck. hows the diet been?

Thanks Size32, no truck pulling or lifting in my future but would gladly settle for maintaining muscle mass while shedding fat.

Diet has been pretty solid although I haven't been recording or counting calories yet. I focus on keeping the portion sizes under control for each meal and do my best to limit snacking in between. When I did my calculations I figured that I burn through over 3000 calories a day based upon lean body mass and activity levels so my aim is to keep calories around 2000/day for sustained weight loss and so far so good. When I start hitting a couple weeks of slowed weight loss I'll have to really start counting calories and switching up the exercise even more but so far so good.

Holy Moly Feelinggooder! You are an exercising calisthenics fool! I love it!! I'm thinking you're going to be the March roll model!! Way to go on getting yourself a healthy reward on the exercise bike! Always easier to use the "toy"! You're just full of enthusiasm and results this weekend! Way to go! So proud of you!! Looking forward to seeing your goals for this week to give us all encouragement!

Sarah

Thanks again Sarah,

Seem to have the fool part down if nothing else. Going to make sure that the goals for this week are a little more reasonable methinks although the weekly weigh in this morning resulted in a huge loss for the week. This week has been my largest loss since week two when I was still shedding the initial weight from xmas.

Current weight: 245lbs Current Body fat percentage: 30.0

Pretty stoked that I've already hit my original end March goals of 255lbs and 30.0 % body fat.

Still considering run/walking a 5k run in a couple weeks and starting to work towards more of the activity goals I have set for myself so my goals for next week are going to include more cardio while still getting strength training in. As part of completing last week's challenge for weight lifted I finally pulled out an old strength training program and completed week 1/day 1 of the workouts so this week's goals:

3 treadmill sessions of at least 20 minutes each

2 hours of time on the new exercise bike

300 pushups

Complete the other two days of the week 1 workouts.

hmmmm,... maybe I suck at coming up with reasonable challenges... something to shoot for I guess.
