Hi ,
I'm 48/f . I was excercising regularly till I injured a shoulder and was restricted by pain . I am back again to the gym. I am 66 kgs now and my target weight is 55-56 kgs. I have a problem of lower back pain too-so I have to be careful with that too .
Would appreciate any inputs. I am starting slowly with 30 minutes on the treadmill and 15 on elliptical . WOuld like to slowly get into weights from the next week onwards and a little more intense cardio .

THank you !

First of all, welcome to the forum

Secondly, the biggest piece of advice I can offer is don't overdo it. If you have (had) an injured shoulder and lower back pain, take it easy for the first couple of weeks. If you immediately jump into trying to lift heavy amounts of weight, you could very easily re-injure yourself and/or cause permanent damage. I have an injured shoulder myself and it's very hard for me to take it easy - that's more of a macho, male ego thing though. Still, I know my limits and avoid pushing myself too hard...most of the time anyway, HAHAHA.

Anyway, glad to have you at the forum.

I would very much like to help you out. My name is George and I am a fitness and nutrition freak. For my whole life I have been active. For 25 years I have learned about nutrition, food, herbs, dieting, and everything in between.

I have had so many injuries I lost count. I fought mixed martial arts for 15 years. I KNOW injuries. Almost every joint in my body has had an injury. I am now 34, retired from mixed martial arts, and play basketball competitively, and lift weights 5-6 days a week.

Make sure you have a slight incline on the treadmill. They mostly just push you along. Also if you walk without a treadmill you are probably used to it. Look more to the elliptical.

Let me know if you need more info on what to do for injuries, how to work around them, or anything else.
