weight gain issue

Ive just started bodybuilding and alittle over a months time ive gained 3 inches of muscle around my chest with about a half inch on my arms and stomach since im only doing chest exercises but I have a huge problem.

I started around 125lbs, very small, the reason why I finally picked up weightlifting. Now my chest has gone from flat to having a small amount of muscle on it but somehow ive lost 10lbs. Im about 117lbs now and the entire month I was eating from 3000k-4000k to some cases 4500 calories.

During that time of eating, I lost 10lbs. Now Ive eased off and im back to about a 2500k calorie diet and my weights increasing from 115 to 117. This is probably a concern? It seems like my body isn't processing all the food im shoving in it. Im not exercising anymore so that could be why im gaining some weight back but dam my workouts were only 20mins long for my chest. I shouldn't be burning that many calories.
 
Really make sure of your diet. If you could post to us what you eat in a regular day than maybe we can identify where the problem is.
