I finished my half Ironman (barely) so now it is time to get back into calorie deficits. I did run up a 2300+ calorie deficit the day of (thanks to burning 7000+ calories), but I had calorie surpluses when carb loading the two days prior and ravenously eating the day after.

Very impressive, a real accomplishment.

Woke up too early this morning, 3:30 am with an awful stomach ache, and I don't often get stomach aches, not like this anyway. Yesterday for dinner I ate 7 ounces of zero calorie noodles (Amazon.com : Wonder Noodles - Spaghetti - Carb-Free, Keto Pasta - Gluten-Free, Kosher, Vegan, Zero Calories - ready to eat (Includes 3 packages - Each package contains 2 inner packs of 7oz each) : Grocery & Gourmet Food ) maybe that is it. Weight at 166, probably water and probably related to whatever is causing the stomach problems... Hopefully it will soon pass.

Those noodles are pretty high in fiber, but the kind of fiber is weird since it has like zero calories/carbs (but fiber is a carb?). It gave me stomach cramps the first time I tried them, but I stubbornly kept eating them over a week and my body quickly got used to it.

Good to see Tom, Misty and Err, all holding. Err what you said about the noodles is interesting, I was about to throw them out, but think I will try eating just a few the next time. On the package it says a serving is 1 ounce, I ate 7. Though 1 ounce of wet noodles is not much, not really a serving. On the calorie thing I am sure they have a few, but in the US you can call something with 5 calories or less 0. That is likely the reason for the small portion size, they keep it small enough to stay under the 5 calorie limit. So I would guess that 7 ounces, a more normal serving size, like has 10 or 20 calories, not a lot, but not zero.

Still in the 160s, but down a little. If I can not binge I think it will drop even a bit more, we'll see. For not I am sticking with the higher calorie diet (2,000 per day limit). If I stay in the 160s and drift upward I may cut that back. Bingeing ain't helping, twice this month so far... But I have resisted most days, will try to make that all days.
  • July 2020, entered maintenance at 167 lbs, after both my doctor and trainer said I needed to lose no more.
  • August began daily weighing, ranged 163 to 159.
  • September began 160, ended 158, ranged 160 to 154.
  • October began 159, ended 158, ranged from 155 to 162.
  • November began 160, ended 153, ranged from 153 to 164.
  • December averaged 156 and ranged from 151 to 159.
  • January 2021 averaged 155 and ranged from 149 to 160.
  • February averaged 156 but ranged wildly 145 to 166.
  • March averaged 147, ranged from 143 to 153, the high just the one day after surgery.
  • April was not a great month, averaged 157 but ended at 164..., ranged from 147 to 166.
  • May was not-so-great , I averaged 156 and ranged from 149 to 165, unfortunately I ended the month with a binge and up into the 160s
  • June was not too great either, averaged 160 and ranged 155 to a one day peak of 172.
July 2021

After losing about 160 lbs I began maintenance in July 2020 and am trying to stay somewhere in or close to the 150s. May rethink this one...

Like they say, slow and steady wins the race. We'll see. I'll take anything these days other than a gain. I'm trying out some different things so we will see how it goes. Good job on your loss and maintaining, even if it is a struggle. I'm impressed. I want to get to where you are at.

I got my second vaccine shot yesterday and it has been a miserable 24 hours since but hoping the side effects fade by tonight. I didn't eat much yesterday as I felt sick so I am sure this is only water weight loss.
