Hello all,

So here's my long story, short! 5 years ago I weighed 180lbs and went all the way down to 95lbs. WAY too skinny. The thing is I didn't lose that weight so smartly. I ate on average 700 calories a day. BAD! Anyway I got back up to 110lbs and kept that weight for 3 years! I was in the best shape of my life.

About 2 years ago I got into cake decorating, my side business now, and went to Culinary School. Need I say more?! I gained all that weight back! Seeing the scale hit 180lbs again, I knew I had to make some changes! Since November I have lost 20lbs and gotten engaged to the most incredible man in the world!!

I've been working out everyday, except for days i'm really sore. I've been eating fruits, veggies, chicken, fish, low fat milk/yogurt, oats, nuts, natural peanut butter, black beans. I've been so stricked on what I eat. I've even found myself eating too little calories. I DO NOT want to go down that road again! I think in the back of my mind I keep thinking that this is the only way i've ever lost weight. I lost that weight feeling week, and fragile. I want to feel strong and fit and healthy this time!!

This is why I need help. I need motivation and I think this journaling to people will help me this time. With advice and encouragement I know I can do this and reach my goals!

I have a wedding dress to look gorgeous in on October 16, 2010! Although I know he'll think I'm beautiful no matter what shape or size, I'm doing this for me! For my life and for my families life!

Here we GO!!

oh and my starting weight is 160lbs. Let's do this!!

Congrats! How long did it take you to lose that much and how'd you do it? and how are you doing now?

I see you're from Chorpus Christi?!?!! I am so Jealous! I LOVE it down there. I used to go down there every winter to get away from the cold. My Grandparents live down in Port Aransas every winter.

5k or 10mile??

Oh my goodness! Today was so nice outside when I got home from work. 35 degrees and so sunny! I went for a run only wanting to go for 20 minutes, I ended up going 40 minutes!! I can't wait for spring!! :hurray:

Anyone else a runner?

On my run today I was thinking about running another race. I've ran 2 5k's before and LOVED it! I think I want to do it again at Twin Cities. But then I was thinking, what If I did the 10miler instead? I've wanted to run a longer race for such a long time but never felt I could do it. What do you guys think? Should I work toward that?

Where do I even start?!

weigh in day

So today was my weigh in/measurement day. I have gained a pound this week! AH! My measurements didn't change though. I even stepped up my workouts this week and worked out louder! What the heck?!

I'm not going to let it get me down though. I know that will just make things worse. I am going to try a few things this week and see what happens. I am going to start drinking green tea everyday. I know I did this once before and I lost the weight pretty easily. I don't know if that was part of it, but it's worth a try. It's good for me anyway right?!

I am also going off one of my medications, not completely cold turkey, but I'll probably just take it once a day or less. It will allow me to eat snacks throughout the day and allow me to eat more calories. Again, worth a try.

Lets see what happens! Lord, give me patience and help me through this.

I can't think of bigger modivation that looking good for your wedding. It is one of my reasons to lose weight as well since I do not want to get married while over 300. I just can't do it, thinking about looking back at pictures and seeing me this way.

I know you can do this and we can keep pushing you forward. You keep talking to us and we will keep cheering you.

yay

So today I weighed myself and the scale said exactly 160.0! Whew! I guess I didn't gain that extra pound after all.
The drinking green tea thing has been going well. I've been drinking 1 cup per day so far. Of course still drinking 80 + oz of water per day also.

Anyone have those new Jillian Michaels DVDs? I LOVE them! I love her!! She can deffidently get me going! I felt so great this morning after I did the 30 day shred. These DVD's give me so much energy but I get tired earlier in the afternoon, but maybe that's just because I work so hard during the day. IDK.

Hey girly! Glad to hear you are doing well with your water intake as well as everything else :) I found the best thing to take your mind off of working out... I don't know if you go to the gym but I bought the latest issue of the Modern Bride and read it while on the elliptical and the time FLEW by and I ended up working harder without realizing it... being a bride-to-be and all I know you'll appreciate it :p

Keep up the good work!

Ok, so I've gotten into a bad habbit of weighing myself every morning when I wake up. It's because I'm so worried that I'm not losing weight, well, because I'm not. My body is really stubborn right now, it won't budge!

Do I try to eat less? Do I try to eat more? BUt if I eat more, i'm worried I'll gain. ugghh! What to do what to do...

I'm guilty of weighing myself every day too. Are you drinking lots of water? Maybe rev up your workouts to kick start the loss? Just stay consistent and the scale is bound to drop! Have a good weekdend and keep it up!

Has anyone heard of "It Works?" I was at a wedding expo today and tried this thing that you wrap around you stomach and supposedly it makes you lose inches within 45 minutes. I of course laughed when I first heard the lady say it but she said it really works and talked me into trying one. lol!
45 minutes later I measured and guess what happened! -NOTHING!

What a joke! She said to measure again in 24 hours.

Why is this a bad habit? I weigh myself every morning as well ... it lets me know what's going on with my body and where I am day to day?

If you get freaked out about the scale numbers, then maybe daily weighing is a bad habit, but for me, I find it helps me to know that, for example, I gain water weight before my period, or if I eat too much salt, my weight will go up.

Knowing the things that effect my weight helps me to understand where I am and what I need to do to change things.

Most people, when they go day to day, don't really think in the overall average. It's easy to get disappointed if you notice all the large fluxes that happens. Now, I got into the everyday habit but I pick one day to be the official day, Tuesday now that I'm in the BL challenge. The numbers in between don't 'count' so to speak.
