Ok I admit it.... I've been lurking. I finally got the nerve to sign on. Just wanted to say hi. Wishing everyone the best on their individual journeys. For me this is round 3 after a pregnancy that left me far, far away from my ideal weight. I'm still bitter about the weight but I won't go there. Thank God I have a beautiful baby boy to show for it!! :) So my goal? Just one really... I want to be thin. I'm not stuck on a number or a size per se.... I just want to have as little excess body fat as possible and then I'll be where I'll be. I'm *guessing* I should be a size 6/8 and between 135 - 150 lbs. I'm 200 lbs right now and feeling very unhealthy.

Two big challenges:

1. I believe I may suffer from subclinical hypothyroidism; and
2. Finding time to exercise... but I will endeavour to persevere :)

Thanks,

Hi and welcome to the forum. I never had a weight problem until I had my first child. I was a skinny kid. If you think you have hypothyroidism get it checked. It's just a simple blood test.

I did.... despite all the symptoms, and the fact that subclinical hypothyroidism will NOT show itself via a simple TSH test, because all my blood came back normal, two doctors I saw refuse to send me for subsequent bloods and/or to a specialist (endocrinologist). I know I have it; there is a family history and there is no way, even prior to pregnancy, with all the exercise and good eating I was doing, it should have taken me 3 plus years to lose 45 lbs. Anyhow... thanks for the warm welcome and I'm gonna stick with this. My hubby is exploring alternative medicine for me. If I have to go to another country to get treatment, so be it. :)
