wats a better workout ...

wat is better

doing a full workout every second day

or

working different muscles every second day (ie chest, shoulders monday / bicept, back wednesday / tricept, abs, squats friday)

which one is more effective .. thnx
 
Hey there....the 1st option is used more in toning up, where u work your whole body, the second is used when trying to add muscle...i personally follow the 2nd option, because it gives your muscles a chance to relax from exercise.

IMO, i think they both could be effective. do full body workouts splitting upper and lower body for a cycle then doing a conventional split for another cycle.

can someone explain to me then how doing a full body workout every second day doesnt build as much muscle as option 2 ?
like ... ur still working all ur muscles like the second workout but ur doing it more frequently (with 48 hours to recuperate of course) .. id think that would be more effective to make ur muscles grow ... and faster too ... can ne one explain a bit more bout it ?

The theory is that by concentrating on a couple of muscle groups in a workout session you have more energy to put into those muscle groups, than if you did them after doing others when you were already tired. You also might do more sets for those muscle groups therby stimulating more growth. You also would get a longer rest time before hitting those muscle groups again, thereby allowing for more recovery and additional muscle growth.
 
yea that does make sense.
i just have a stupid habit where i just want to go thru intense training .. like do the most possible to achieve my goal.
i guess with this case i have to pace myself more and just wait and see what happens.
